Analyzing Sleep Apnea, CPAP Treatment in Melanoma Prognosis

Post by D.H. » Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:52 am

This article clearly states that if you suffer from OSA, your prognosis is significantly improved if you're CPAP compliant. This article states that this is the case for Melanoma. Also, by implication, the same applies to other cancers as well.

The obvious issue with melanoma is what to do if the melanoma is in a place that interferes with wearing the mask? This means that the doctor treating the melanoma has to be very involved with the exactly how the mask fits and perhaps alter the treatment to accommodate the mask.

Thanks for posting this interesting article, DH. For those who are interested, here's the article it's based on:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37348828/

It isn't clear yet whether anything similar would result for CPAP use with other kinds of cancer:

Sounds like a topic to track!
