Looking to Optimize My Pressure? Please Help

Post by filmstreamer1 » Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:53 am

I'm one of the Lofta Guys Here that was prescribed 4-20 pressure for my RX on my Airsense 10.

Felt like I was not getting enough air, so I have been tweaking it... But today I downloaded OSCAR and uploaded a picture of my sleep.

It's currently at 8-14 but I am not sure what to do with the OSCAR data. Was hoping someone could help me optimize.

Below is my chart from last nights sleep. I usually sleep 9-10 hours.

If you are sleeping well, I would leave everything alone.

Have headaches everyday, wondering if the apneas have something to do with it?

Going to neurologist tomorrow to get checked out. Had a CT scan and that was normal.

Don't know how to read the data and see if it is optimized or I'm not doing well with my settings.

Doubtful.

It wouldn't be impossible for though for mask fitting to cause a headache if the straps are too tight or pressing on some nerve of some sort.

Also...sleeping position itself can cause a headache but from stress on the cervical spine.

See your doctor though....lots of other reasons for headaches are out there.

Next time you share a report...include the flow limitation graph please. There might be something there that is important to know.

How's your sleep quality??? Waking often or sleeping soundly for the most part?

I sleep through the whole night..

Side sleeper too, heard that was better for sleep apnea?

Thanks for replying.

Back sleeping is well known to make OSA worse and/or cause higher pressure needs for a lot of people but not everyone.
And not everyone can sleep on their sides anyway because of various physical problems. Back sleeping isn't all that "worse" for me but it does cause me increased back pain which messes with my sleep....but I can't always stay on my side. I got a couple of bad shoulders that also cause problems side sleeping. Now REM stage sleep...that worsens my OSA by 5 times (quite common) and can cause substantial increases in pressures needed to hold the airway open. I can't control REM at all so I just make sure my settings are able to deal with REM needs.
Those settings would also deal with supine sleeping if needed so I don't worry so much about sleeping position

I just worry about getting the sleep first because without sleep none of this really matters much.
