Best Chin Strap for Beard

Post by Breathe Jimbo » Sat Jun 04, 2011 7:24 pm

I'm thinking of trying a chin strap, but I have a beard (goatee). Has anyone else with a beard found a good, stable chinstrap that does not have the World War 1 head-injury patient look?

I have a GIANT head. A 3X-Large hat is the smallest I can wear. Most stores have NOTHING that fits me. I suspect the PapCap would not work.

Shave the beard. I had a mustache for over 40 years. I shaved the sucker off to make my XPAP
therapy more effective. Nothing is more important than your health. Lose the vanity and smell the coffee.

Breathe Jimbo..............you could still try the Papcap, as it can be returned if it doesn't work.... Bret is wonderful to work with.....and for different reasons, I did return the papcap.

I've also had success keeping my mouth shut using a simple $1 boil & bite mouthguard from the sporting goods section of any large store.

I would try every option out there before shaving something that's been so much a part of your life.

Yah, well, that's not going to happen.

That's what I said the first 12 years I was on the hose and it didn't. I ended up with the Respronics Supreme chin strap. Works pretty good with hair on the chin. Now I'm on a FFM and clean shaven for the first time in my life and I'm no spring chicken...

I have a full beard, but I keep it trimmed pretty short (4 on the guard). I started with the Respironics chin strap, but hated it. It'd frequently shift around during the night, so my DME suggested I try the Ruby chinstrap. It works like a champ, and stays in place all night. I'd recommend it.
