I think I would be keeping the autoset and selling my elite!

Ditto. You never know when that APAP feature might come in handy.

My opinion, keep both. Use each one, trading out once a month. They both will last at least four times longer than one, and provide a backup machine.

Can you explain the math on that?

1 + 1 = 2 and there is 2 machines so 2 * 2 = 4. See, clear as mud.

SMenasco is right on the math. If you like new technology and keep an eye on the new machines coming out, it will seem like two last four times longer as you wait for both of them to break so you have an excuse for buying a fancier new one.

I would keep the Autoset and run it in CPAP mode. This would allow me to once in a while use it in Autoset mode and check my optimal pressure. Most Docs know very little about XPAPS.

Your doctor is an idiot.

Take everything he says from now on with a grain of salt. Plan on figuring CPAP out on your own and using him for access to prescriptions, insurance, and occasionally for further help.

You don't have to set an auto CPAP on a pressure range of 4-20 and leave it there. You can set it for a more limited range.

Grand-PAP wrote:I was going to sell the "used" Elite, but then it dawned on me . . .

As a "used" machine the Elite wouldn't have much value. So, I thought about keeping it as a backup. However, to have TWO relatively new machines is a little much for the budget. I have been using the Elite for a month and it works fine. Since the AutoSet is new, it would have greater potential to sell.
The Autoset became a used machine the minute you took it out of the packing! Even with zero hours! Just like a car. As soon as you drive it off the lot, even if the odometer is 0.1 miles, its a used car. Sensible, no. Marketing reality, yes. If you have the option, return it for credit. You'll do a lot better that way, money wise.
