FYI - a CPAP set for 20cm will inflate air mattresses!

Post by jaybee72 » Fri May 11, 2012 7:33 pm

Last night we needed to inflate an air matress for a guest. Pulled out the old S8, set it to 20, and it only took about 30 seconds to inflate fully. Oh, and an old hose even fit over the fill port nicely. Probably take some flack for abusing the machine, but it really didn't stress it!

But, think of all the S7s certain DMEs still give out. Isn't that what they're for???

When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

that is good to know for travelling. i won't have to bring the air pump.

on the other hand, while the high volume will fill the mattress, it's low pressure will not inflate a simple kids balloon. i did that test. it fills the balloon to its natural form like the bed but will not inflate it beyond that.

a cpap set at 20 is in the area of .25 psi, very low pressure.
