Machine recommendation

Post by SteveGold » Mon Aug 12, 2013 8:08 pm

I've been on CPAP for nearly a year, using the data-less brick my doctor talked me into (after lurking these boards, now I know better). I've done quite well with it, but in the last few months I've felt my "apnea brain" returning, and adjusting my pressure through trial-and-error isn't getting results. I've decided to invest in a real machine that will give me actionable information about how well my treatment is working.

I'm currently on a ResMed S9 Escape. I'm looking at the ResMed S9 AutoSet. Cosmetically the same and it's compatible with my current humidifier.

Before I pull the trigger, I just want to make sure this is a sound choice. As I understand it, the AutoSet works with Sleepyhead and I'll be able to download all my data. It's also compatible with fancier humidifiers that can handle heated tubes, should I ever decide to go that route.

I'm pretty comfortable with my choice - just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. Thanks.

It's a great choice. You won't be sorry.

I've never had an S9, but I'm pretty sure that there is only one humidifier for the
entire S9 series. All you should need to upgrade is the ClimateLine hose.

I use the same Cimateline with my Elite and my Autoset.
This one is for higher pressure:
