New Apap noises?

Post by sheepdog » Thu Oct 24, 2013 11:27 am

HI all. My Apap recently is making a noise that annoys the wife. (maybe I should sleep at the GF's? LOL)

When I use the machine at night my exhale has a wheeze or small whine at the end of it. It is noticeable. At some point it stops whining during the night.
I dont have a clue what causes it. It doesnt bother me but at 14000 hrs plus I just wonder if this is the warning of things to come. bearings maybe?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Auto 10-20 setting - no difference on back or side- no difference with or without humidifier on. Sometimes if I turn it off and wait 5 minutes then back on the sound will not return.
Respironics model 510 Auto Cpap w/ respironics heated humid. 14000 hrs as of Oct 23 2013

Sounds like a bearing related to the blower motor.

14,000 hours sounds like 6 years or so and time to repair or replace.

AccBioMed is a good place to get an idea of the repair cost.
My guess would be that a replacement wouldn't be that much.

Thanks. I am thinking about replacement and will talk to the Ins co. Obama care would probably fine me for asking as I am an older white male.
Probably replace this year is best I guess.
