New CPAPer - Here's My Data!

Post by delfinparis » Mon Jun 16, 2014 5:20 pm

Wonder if someone can take a quick peek at my SleepyHead stats and let me know if there's anything I should be aware of. I've only been using the cpap for 18 days, but I wouldn't say I'm feeling that much different from before. I would say I'm a little less tired.

Where I used to fall asleep in about 30 seconds now takes me around 10 min with the cpap. Not sure if that skews any of the data.

Here's my equipment...

Philips REMstar Pro 460p
Simplus Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear

My cpap is set to 9.0 (starts at 5 and ramps up to 9 over 25 min - this was set by the sleep tech). I use the humidifier set at 2 (of 5).

During my sleep study my AHI was averaging 11 before CPAP.

Is there anything I could be doing to better improve my stats? Thanks!

D.J.

During my sleep study my AHI was averaging 11 before CPAP.
So that's a pretty mild case to begin with, maybe you feel bad for some reason other than apnea?

Your leaks are pretty good except for a couple of days.
Your AHI isn't great and the problem is that you're having a lot of Clear Airway apneas. More pressure won't fix that. In fact I think I'd try lowering the pressure a cm for a few days and see what that does to the CA's.

Also, with the 460 you can set it up to auto-titrate for a few days set from about 7 to 11cmH2O and see where it thinks you should be.

I see a lot of fragmented sleep sessions. Not solid blocks of sleep which makes me wonder why? and if those Clear Airway (centrals) are related to possible awake/semi awake breathing times and before I would start wondering about them and possible relation to pressure I would want to see the daily detailed graphs to see when and where those centrals occurred in related to awake fragmented sleep sessions.

May 30 and June 10...centrals were not problematic at all and in fact the AHI was quite low.
Makes me wonder why or what changed.
I would want to see more detailed graphs and not just the summary trend graphs myself.
