But I'm a software guy and should not ever touch hardware for the well being of all concerned.
Now that's something I can appreciate - I was a hardware hacker but turned to software when I discovered that a "smoke test" failure only required a reboot, not a fire extinguisher!

But if you are quick, the test will show you where to put the upgraded parts. Jim

The idea of the cutoff switch was to avoid arcing if I ever had to replace the battery.
I think it would go like this battery->fuse->cutoff->guage->(inverter or lighter socket)->cpap machine.
I want the inverter for flexibility but It might not be in the cpap circuit.
Your cutoff is wasted money, just unplug the cpap.

I am using solar panels to charge my 35 watt-hour AGM battery.
You mean amp-hour?

I could do that but lose the flexibility of having an inverter.
Yes I meant amp-hour.
Thank you for the correction.

I just noticed the title...

Down here, UPS shopping is called "THEFT"... do your shopping in a store, or online, quit following the UPS truck around.

That is OT-UPS. There is no off-topic designation on this thread.

I tested this machine last night.

Results exceeded my expectations.
I decided to test the unit my s9 autoset humidity level 5 and prescription of 10-20cm h20 with the humidifier attached.
Disconnected the mains plug to simulate a power failure.
It ran all night with capacity to spare.

Now I can leave the solar generator in the circuit and probably not even notice a power outage until I get up in the morning.

This looks like a fine unit with plenty of features and enough power.

A few points:
The cost recently at Amazon (currently out of stock) was $460.

The total power is listed at 346 Watt-hours which translates to about 28 Amp-hours, which means its roughly equivalent to a U1 AGM battery. When you add in the required charger and cables, a U1 based system can be put together for about $120, so there's a huge premium on the spiffy packaging and light weight.

Referring to the ResMed battery guide,
https://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents ... lo_eng.pdf
an S9 at pressure 10 and humidity 5 has a load of about 5 amps with an inverter, and somewhat less, perhaps 3 amps using the 12 volt converter. (I'm not sure about the heated hose load.) With the inverter you'll be pushing the limits on the battery for a full night. With the converter, and backing off a bit on the humidity, you should get 2 nights - even more if you turn off humidity and heated hose.

Spiffy packaging? Hmmm. The bullfrog is always making things on his Rostok Max V2.
