3 months from referral from my GP. It took 2 1/2 months from meeting with seep doctor to getting the machine. Two weeks to get prescription from doc after last sleep study.
Seeing and believing are often both wrong. FOW

While I can't comment on the speed of getting a machine, I can say my first sleep study was 3 weeks after my PCP ordered it, and my titration study is this Friday - 12 days after the first study. This is all through the VA - I consider myself very fortunate to live within a few miles of an EXCELLENT VA hospital.

First, let me explain that my experience dates back to 1999, so it might be different now, even at the same sleep center.

I was told on my baseline study that it would take six weeks to score. Two days later they called, and said that due to the severity of my case, I was escalated to the top of the stack. I was titrated within two-weeks, and had my machine delivered within a few days.

Perhaps the end of the alphabet boy's difficulties with getting his ASV had more to do with his lack of human skills than the system he so often rails about. Piss off enough people and life can get difficult, even if you have a perfect right. HE seems to lack basic human decency and the ability to tolerate others who don't see the world as he does.

Even that should not be an excuse for withholding medically indicated treatment.
Medical professionals are sworn to serve all who need it---even the extremely rude.
At what point should we figure sufficient time has passed--and to whom do we complain?
Perhaps this should be the matter under discussion.
Not customary wait times, but ACCEPTABLE wait time!

To the OP - again, my apologies for the horrible comments made to you. Please ignore that poster and focus on those that are trying to really help you.

When I am bored, all I have to do is look for xxyz's posts for a good laugh and entertainment. The really bad thing is, as somebody mentioned, someone new might actually take him seriously.

Conservative, Republican. Don't let idiots like xxyyzz (or whatever) give us a bad name.

Sleep study ordered on March 17 after a few MRI and lumbar puncture. Actually got my take home sleep study unit May 6, brought it back the next day. They tell me they will have results the following Monday. I keep calling to ask when two weeks pass with no results in, according to them, and they start getting annoyed when I call! Called on a Friday and they tell me still no results in! There is another office in another city so I call there looking for answers. Then I was told the results were in the previous week! They had lied to me. I call back to ask for my report and they tell me no can do until I see the doc. Anotherdoctor I see requested the results and finally, on June 12, I got the call that I have very severe sleep apnea and I should be getting my machine (A PAP, because my apnea is too severe for a CPAP) in hopefully a week.

One week later, still no machine. So that will be 3 months since sleep study was ordered, still no machine, with AHI of 71. I feel horrible for you. I know this is 10 years after your first post, and I would really like to know how you are doing.
