Good DME around Baltimore, MD

Hi All.

I know it's a Paradox, but can anyone recommend a "good" DME around the Baltimore area?

Preferably in the area Northeast of the 695 Beltway.

I have Medicare and CIGNA as secondary.

I can go thru the list of approved DME Vendors on the Medicare site. I know they have pretty extensive network of DME's.

Hopefully, I can get some references to lead to a "good one". (If such a thing exists.)

I have been doing this since 2006 and want to pull my fingernails out with pliers rather than deal with these DME Slimeballs.

I have been using Crapria and they have not gotten any better over the years.

I tried an outfit from Frederick, MD, called "BP Gamma" who had a very good salesman, but no support whatsoever from the staff or owner.

I checked and they are on the Medicare list as "Americoast".

The google reviews are great! But when I checked the BBB site, they reviews are extremely dismal. Although they do seem to have resolved most of the complaints.

Maybe they have made some changes in the Corporate attitude for the better.

I can't find any email contact info for them, so will try to give them a call to see what I need to set up in order to order supplies, and potentially a new machine.

My machine is 7 years old and should probably be replaced.

I have Medicare so don't know how hard it is to get a new machine, but seems like I may need a new sleep study (mine last one was 6 years ago), and then will have to "rent" the machine for a period of time before it becomes mine. I don't know if Medicare pays for the rental and then they pay off the balance after the rental period or not?

Medicare does not require a new sleep study. (There are some exceptional cases.)

The assistant at my sleep doctor knew from experience which were the good DMEs and which were the bad ones.

I don't currently have a "Sleep" Doc. Only a primary care Doc.

But I am thinking I need to see a specialist again.

I have Medicare

Hopefully this is not an Advantage plan but the Original Medicare?

Verus got me a new bipap w/o a sleep study.

Well unless you feel you need another in lab psg?

But you are right most DME's are terrible because they are only in it for the money.
Many times the people tasked to help you don't use cpap so don't have any clue.
Ask them when you talk.

My PCP referred me to a pulmonologist years ago.
Apparently, my case is no big deal, as I have only been seen by the PA for at least a decade.
I am using my FOURTH DME, as eventually, they almost all turn sour.
Feel free to change providers any time, as you are only a number to most of them.
