I have an awesome alarm clock. It displays the time in simultaneous digital and analog formats. It has eight alarms. Any of them can wake me to music, radio, or just about any sound effect I want. It has the humane waking system, which means the alarms come on softly and get progressively louder until I wake up. It sets itself automatically to the right time via a radio signal from a special radio station in Colorado where an atomic clock resides.
Or at least it used to. Apparently there's enough radio frequency interference coming from the Resmed VAUTO to disrupt the signal. So it didn't reset itself this morning at 2. When I thought it was 7:30 it was actually 8:30, which means I had to really hoof it not to be late.
I can't be the only one with a clock that sets itself. Any experience with how far I have to move it in order not to mess with the clock signal? I've been meaning to move it to the bottom drawer of the nightstand just to reduce the white noise and make it more unobtrusive during the day. Maybe that will be far enough.

Re: Springing Forward
I use my cell phone for an alarm clock. It always updates the time correctly st the start and end of daylight savings time.

I use a chumby. It also sets itself.
I don't know how many alarms it can have, but I did program about 250 unique ones into it at one time, (a years worth) just to see if it'd take it.... it did.

Re: Springing Forward
I have to move my atomic clock to another room so it can receive a clean signal, but I have another RF noise creating device nearby so my situation is not typical. The radio signal from Colorado is a very low frequency and subject to all kinds of noise interference. For example, a thunder storm will interfere with the signal. Not really much you can do except move your clock as far away as possible from any RF noise creating equipment. I just use another type of clock for the time change night, and rotate two identical atomic clocks between two rooms to let each sync every few days the rest of the year. Sounds like a pain, but it is not the two clocks are excellent otherwise.
