Re: Staying in hospital and CPAP

I had a TKR last November. Was told to NOT bring my CPAP since the hospital wanted to provide it and charge for the use. I told them that then I would need to have an appointment with the RT before surgery to coordinate treatment. They said that was not possible. I was not going to be under ...

Re: Traveling to San Francisco, forgot my CPAP

This won't help now, but for future (and for others), my husband got an electronic copy of his CPAP prescription and saved it in his email. I have a PDF copy of mine in Google Drive. He travels quite a bit for business and packs his CPAP in his checked luggage  . His luggage was lost last fa...

Re: Ok, Enough's Enough.. Surgery Advice please :(

Thinking outside of the box here. A mask that is not used much but one you might look at is a nasal prong type. I used one many years ago for a couple of years. A problem with these is that size matters, too large and it can rub nares.

Re: Humidifer water

With tap water you may notice the odor of the chlorine(Cl) that is added to municipal water supplies. The smell goes away a while after you turn on the PAP. If you have the time fill the chamber and let it sit for a time and the Cl will dissipate.

Re: Take CPAP when traveling

I've been on CPAP for about 15 years. Several years ago we went to Tahiti for nearly 3 weeks and the machine worked every night. Last January We were in Patagonia, even staying in an Eco camp where the power was derived from small water turbines on site, and used the machine every night. Planning a ...
