Re: AirSense 11 AutoSet arrived, a few questions

Another cause of the water chamber running dry during the night is mouth breathing.

Re: Air ‘push’ during moments where I don’t breath

The Philips Respironics System One Auto's algorithm would make a puff of air if you didn't take a breath soon enough. I don't think it was for the purpose of "encouraging you to inhale", but a way of checking to see if the airway was open. Still it did make me feel it was trying to get me to breathe...

Re: New Standard CPAP hose

I've been using the same hose for years. I guess you could call that "high quality".

Re: Replaced Phillips with Airsense 10

I used a Philips for the first 6 years and then switched to an Airsense 10. My impression is that the Airsense algorithm is smooth as glass, I always felt like I was fighting with the Philips because it seemed to push me to breathe in an unnatural rhythm. I don't love that we have to take it on fait...

Re: Mask With Magnets Causing Headaches??

now have to order supplies from my local Lincare until my lease is up No, you don't have to order supplies from Lincare. Depending on your insurance, you can order supplies from any DME that will take your business, and many online suppliers including our hosts at cpap.com (which you appear to have...

Re: INTRACTABLE HEAD PAIN WITH FULL MASK

I agree with the suggestion that a different mask may have the needed different pressure points to prevent pain. Knowing exactly where their pain is located could lead you to selecting a workable mask instead of guessing willy-nilly. I've had to give up on masks that the strap across the back of th...

Re: Is the N30 nasal cradle different from P10 pillows?

But then things have really been screwed up in my life here lately.
:(

Sorry to hear that. I hope my other "saying" works better for you--"when a year starts out badly it ends up great".

Hang in there, Pugsy.

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

My ResMed 10 autoset "exceeded it's motor life". How long have you had yours? Has it been checked over in case it's malfunctioning. How about your mask--how long since you've replaced it? Any leaks in your hose? Have you actually SEEN your doctor to assess whether there's been a change in your heart...

Re: INTRACTABLE HEAD PAIN WITH FULL MASK

Too little info for anyone to be able to respond. I assume you are getting a diagnostic workup in the hospital. What results?

Which mask caused you pain? Was it brand new? How tight was it? Have you tried other masks?

Regarding the finding of lost or misplaced things, the strategy that ALWAYS works for me is to buy a new one, and THEN the lost or missing one always shows up.

Re: is there a more flexible hose for the Air Sense 11 ?

Sometimes, DME's swap slimline hose for standard hoses. Crapria did that to me when the Kaiser prescription specified slimline. I don't even see any difference on retail price that would help their bottom line revenue, so I don't know why they pulled that trick. Slimline is a little more flexible an...

Re: Storing Cpap Machine

I put my backups in their carrying bags and place them in the bottom of my closet. I also put a piece of paper in each one with the date I bought it and how long I used it. I have two airsense 10's. One is almost new and the other is several years older, so gives me an idea which is which. Sheriff ...

Re: Storing Cpap Machine

I used to keep my backup in my car trunk in its case most of the year. We've had to evacuate from wildfires twice beginning in 2017 when wildfires took 4000 homes in my town in one night. Fortunately, we had time before we had to evacuate each time. Some people had as little as 5 minutes warning and...

Re: Sore

So I woke up with a sore filled with pus on my cheek. It’s where my mask sits. I’m going to assume this is a pressure sore from my nightmares. Maybe where my mask rubs my face during my nightmares because I do make sure my mask is sanitized every morning. And I just changed meds and my nightmares c...

either laqueen has figured it out or forgotten they've asked the question.

hasn't been back for a week.
Maybe a drive by. Or maybe she just didn't have anything else to say. I like that better than a "yes butter"
