AIR POCKETS FORMING INSIDE CHEEK
I have been having trouble with my ResMed S9 with a humidifier (H5i), and w/ supplemental O2. The grommet (rubber washer) at the output port came loose and broke. So, the VA sent me a new H5i and tub. Now I have pockets of air building up in my cheek. It sounds (feels) like a mouth fart, keeping me ...

Re: Contec CMS50F SpO2 results - fluctuating during night
I use a CMS-50f.
Make sure your finger is seated well in the finger probe before and after a nights sleep.
The middle finger works best for me. Otherwise the finger, especially the ring finger (for me), works itself loose. Good luck.

Re: SPO2 meters & Dehydration detection
Thanks for the informative feedback. Indeed there is a lot going on in this complex human system, especially for those diagnosed as sleep apneics, with CVD as we age. And even today, OSA is still fraught with Old Spousal Tales. Yes, correlation does not necessarily imply causation. But I was really ...

Thanks, I fixed that.

SPO2 meters & Dehydration detection
I have been monitoring my SPO2 levels with my consumer-grade CONTEC CMS-60f meter. I found my readings dip to 88-94, when fatigued, especially at night. This prompted the home Oxygen treatment at night. But I noticed my SP02 levels increased about 2-3%, about 30 sec after gulping ice water. Further ...

Re: What kind of tape do folks use?
I have used the Chin-Up strips http://chinupstrip.com/ But I am now a full blown Mouth Breather. So, I now use: 3M Medipore H-Soft Cloth Surgical Tape by 3M https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O0FBL4/ It has some give to it. The serrations are a pain. But I put 3 sections (offset) on top of 4 . An...

Pulse Ox with sleep stages????
Ive used a CMS-50E Pulse Oc for many years but now looking for that tracks sleep stages, like a FitBit.
Any word on the potential development of a fingertip Pulse Ox with an actigraph. Both outputs would be of interest to sleep apnea survivors.

New CMS-50E Software ??
I have been using a CMS-50EW for many years and it finally gave up the ghost. So, I bought a new CMS-50E from Amazon at a reduced price. http://www.amazon.com/CMS-50E-OLED-Fingertip-Pulse-Oximeter/dp/B00IWOKTC0/ I can't download the data via USB cable (old or new) using either the old software (2.0)...

New AutoSet S9 machine
I'm used to the nice printouts from the Encore Pro (Viewer) SmartCard that is used with my VA supplied, 5 year old Respironics M series machine. It started making a loud whining sound, a serious End of Life issue. I now have a New ResMed S9 Autoset CPAP machine from the VA. It uses an SD card. Any i...

Is my CPAP machine getting matoor
My >5 year old CPAP machine (REMstar auto M series A-flex) is making a disturbing "whine" sound. It changes pitch when I inhale. It sounds as loud as an electric drill. Often it does not shut off after I wake up in the morning. But there are no error codes, and the output from the Encore Viewer look...
