Re: Color of AirSense 10 Autoset for Her?
Hey, I used toaster covers and still use tea cozies (keeps my tea warm longer). Don't use the toaster cover here (my Mom's) because the toaster is used daily. My former sig. other didn't eat toast and I only had toast on the weekend. The cover kept the cat fur out (if you don't think they don't clim...

Restless Legs Study
This is a news report, not the original study. For any of us who have it, at least there is some hope that now that they understand it, they may come up with something that works better without all the terrible side effects! The report is from a Sydney, Australia medical news service. https://knowri...

Re: OT - Hearing Aids
First, I'm envious. I couldn't afford the ones that did all the bells and whistles. Mine hooks up to a bluetooth app making it a little easier for me to adjust the sound than directly on the hearing aid. I am new to hearing aids so was recently doing a lot of research. There is a great deal of discu...

Re: Hose Cleaning...Why?
I clean mine at least once a month and after a cold/flu. I clean my bathtub and shower about the same amount. If you use water in your humidifier bin, your hose and humidifier bin experience dampness for many hours. That's how you get mold, algae and bacteria. If you choose not to clean it, that is ...

Re: Anything to look for when choosing health insurance?
CPAP supplies are eligible for HSA but may require a Letter of Medical Necessity. It's kindof weird as the machine is automatically covered.

Re: Anything to look for when choosing health insurance?
Don't use your cpap needs as a reason for choosing different health insurances. It's a spit in the bucket compared to coverage for biological cancer drugs and other really expensive possibilities. As an example, a family member gets Remicaid, a biologic med, for Crohn's disease. That's $3000 a pop e...

Re: Supplies
Change the filter when it has obvious discoloration. How often you change it depends on the conditions in your home and often time of year. In the summer when I have my windows open, I change the filter every 2 weeks. In the winter, every other month. Maybe you have road construction in the area or ...

Re: Can I resue my old CPAP?
The one potential problem with an old cpap is that the seals can leak and that 18 pressure may now be a 16 pressure. My DME tested my brother's old bipap and indeed one seal needed to be replaced. Works fine now. When you haven't used a machine in a while, you may get a slightly smoky odor from the ...

Re: CPAP and Caffeine
Has anyone noticed that they are much more sensitive to coffee and caffeine after starting CPAP treatment? I have noticed that it does not take as much coffee to waken me up and that if I drink too much I can get jittery and anxious. Joel It's probably because you aren't so dang TIRED! Glad to hear...

Your time is worth something as well. If your insurance company will reimburse out of pocket, I'd go that route and just order from cpap.com.

Re: Rolled on heated tubung, safe to use?
Rolling on your heated hose is just fine. It usually works and is safe to use. STEPPING on your heated hose usually breaks the wire. You can still use the hose, but it won't eliminate rainout. I try to remember to use clips to keep the hose away from the floor now.

Re: Switching SD card between machines
It erased the data when I switched between the same models. You need an SD card for each machine, but Sleepyhead easily combines them and notes what machine was used and the date.

Re: Could sleep apnea be the cause of optic nerve problems in the eye?
My eye doctor told me that my optic nerve is showing signs of lack of oxygen. He said the arteries look normal and sleep apnea could be a cause. I told him I snore and he wants me to get a sleep study Have you heard of this? A: Yes, there is a condition called non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropath...
