Pilairo headgear, back strap sliding on my head... any advice?

Hello.
I’m trying a combination of Brevida mask with Pilairo Q headgear, but having one problem... being rather baldish (short trimmed hair).... the back side of the headgear is
Sliding up and loosing up the whole mask.

Is there anything I could add to the headgear strap, to stop it from sliding?

Would prefer add something to the headgear,
rather then wear cap etc.

Hi, sorry, I don't have an answer, but I have to ask (because I've been considering trying it myself), how does the Brevida mask work with the Pilairo headgear? I guess other than the sliding on your head. That is a terrible problem for me as well, due to thin, silky, fine, slippery hair. I haven't found a mask yet that stays in place!

I've even tried putting some velcro on the strap, but my hair is so thin, I can feel it and the strap STILL slides up! <sigh>

Hopefully someone else will have a great suggestion.

If I can stop the sliding, this is my favorite nasal pillow. I definitely need the top headgear support, that’s why I opted for pilairo q headgear.

There's another reason besides the hair or lack of for that pesky back strap wanting to slide up the back of the head.
The shape of the back of the head and the size of a little bump on the base of the skull. That little bump is called the occipital protuberance and if it is normal to large that little bump helps hold that back strap in place.
Some people have the back of their head shaped a bit flatter and that little bump isn't very big so it doesn't help out much in terms of keeping that strap from sliding up the back of the head.

So if a person has fine hair or no hair and/or a small or non existent bump on the back of the at the base of the skull...that strap will just want to travel a bit.

I am sorry but I don't have much of an idea about how to keep that strap in place under those circumstances that wouldn't involve wearing something else on the head.

True. I wish the strap had that rubbery feeling to it like the dreamwear strap. That one stays on back of my head lol

How about wrapping a FAT rubber band or two around the back strap?

How about wrapping a FAT rubber band or two around the back strap?

I’m not familiar with the headgear, but you can see a strip of Velcro inside (the scratchy hook side) and that usually stops it from sliding.

Hi have I have another discussion about using the pilairo headgear ( not the single strap one) with my Brevida mask. Been using this for a few weeks now. Only adaptation was that I elected to wind a small pice of paper surgical tape around each of the clips to lessen possibility of the slightly narrower clips from coming off. Works like a dream,

Now as to your slipping problem - I have this problem with the lower strap on the Dreamwear headgear. But it will work for any slipping strap. I fixed the problem entirely in this way: As i wear a soft cervival collar to keep my chin from slipping and allowing my mouth to open slightly while sleeping, I figured: Why not attach the headgear strap that slips up to that to anchor it.. I’ve tried various things but the easiest and most available has turned out to be to thread a shoelace through the overlapped Velcro and then loop it around the lower strap and tie it with a bow. Now anything that attaches the strap will work, but I elected for simplicity.

Your post was exactly why I bought Brevida tube with mask and Pilairio Q headgear

I don't really have problem with the clips snapping out but never hurts to have extra security... As far as the back lower strap... I am going try different ideas

try wearing a doo rag /bandanna to sleep and put the head gear on so the back strap is on the material. Boy did this work for me

Tape off the strap except for a few inches in the back, take it outside and spray with some of that Flex Seal type of material. It is a thin, flexible rubber coating, and should make your strap into a non-slip version.

I laughed when I read this Mark55. I "discovered" flexseal and plast-dip this year and couldn't stop using it. I had some amazing success stories and lots of teasing about my compulsive new habit.

Also, at an auction I won some file cabinets (6 full size cabinets for $4

) and one of the bonuses inside were these "latex button strips / straps" - huge box of them. I found out that they are used (at least one use) to strap catheter tubes to peoples legs. But they are my go to "thing" for all kinds of "blonde repairs".

I bet they would be very grippy on a bad head!

I have fine, silky, thinning hair. To help keep headgear straps in place, I do a quick spritz of hair spray where the straps sit. For me, problem fixed. I use a 'comb-able' hair spray (gentle hold): Redken 12 or there is another (out of it so no can around to share name).
