One question I had though, is it ok to take the humidifier tub out of the machine while it is in cool down mode (still pushing out a low flow of air with the snow flake symbol on the screen). If it were me, I would look at the general condition/cleanliness of the machine and give it a good sniff test. Was the appearance of the person I bought it from decent? Were his fingernails clean? Replace the air filter. Use the machine.

This is symptomatic of leaking air through your mouth. It will cause dry mouth. No CPAP humidifier can overcome this.

Overkill. I use tubing for years without cleaning. It doesn't get dirty. I wipe the mask each morning with an alcohol swab. (I don't use the humidifier.)
