Sleepyhead Pressure data question

Post by rzw » Tue Mar 20, 2018 3:33 am

I know this is probably a silly and obvious question, but when you don't have anyone in person to really talk to about this who is on cpap as well, I have to come here to ask.....
But when I look at my machine pressure chart thru the night, my data looks like a camels hump.....meaning, the machine takes pressure up to max setting anywhere from 5 to 20 min, and then slowly drops back down and then the same thing happens thru the night.....And while my events are really low, i'm still waking up, not sleeping thru the night, and feel in general horrible......So I'm just curious, looking for feedback from other members, what is your machine pressure data like......it seems what I see occasionally posted, folks seem to have more of a gradual increase thru the night, I have not seen anyone that has the extreme camel humps like I have....And I do understand the obvious, the machine is catching an event and that why the strong increase in pressure.....

And I will follow up with one other question....does anyone who sleeps on their side, notice from their data, that there are more events or jumps in pressure on one side vs the other.....I almost think I tend to have more issues on my right side vs the left side......

Posting pics would be more helpful, but...

There's a set minimum on the machine, as breathing events happen, pressure goes up, when the pressure gets high enough to prevent then, pressure stops going up, and then the machine starts to lower the pressure back to what it was told was the minimum needed... and then if that is too low for you, you have events again, and the cycle starts over.

Raise the min pressure enough that there's much less roller coaster effect.

PR is right - pics would help with an accurate answer. What one person thinks he is describing is often misinterpreted by another person. "Some pics are worth a thousand words."
