CA Campgrounds with Electricity

Post by suebeedo » Tue Mar 20, 2018 11:55 am

Does anyone have some recommendations for campgrounds in CA or western US that have electricity? I'm open to destinations - nature preferably, not city.

There are several guide books for campgrounds that list the facilities available. When I camped a lot in years gone by I especially liked the "Woodalsl" guide book, though there are others. Just make a search of booksellers.

Woodall's and also Triple A has travel booklets with accommodation and restaurants lists, and I believe they have a camping listing in there as well. Maybe contact the CA camping association, if there is one, or even local chambers of commerce.

The Reserve America website is also a great resource, they handle the reservations for US forest service campgrounds. They have maps of the campgrounds and list the amenities (including electricity) for each individual campsite.

Camp Edison (owned by Southern California Edison) at Shaver Lake - each campsite has electrical outlets.

We enjoy camping at Memorial Park in San Mateo County. They have electrical outlets in the bathrooms. We camp near the bathrooms, and I charge my battery there during the day.
