Re: can i get dr. to order resmed for me

dankc, Can you please update on what happened with your order. I am having an appt with Dr. to get a new CPAP. I called my insurance (Medicare Advantage). They say whether I rent or buy (with a 20% copay) will depend on DME. According to the insurance person, DMEs bill them in different ways. Any on...

Re: Strange Lincare Experience

RoundKid,
The portal does not work for me either. Initially it was asking the account number. I called and got the account number. Now all info filled and submit, it goes back to the blank form.

Re: Strange Lincare Experience

Thanks for responses. I was calling the main Lincare number. My Medicare Advantage Plan lists some local Lincare branches. I will call them tomorrow and see how it goes. I am wondering whether there is a state health/medicare authority to complain. As LSAT says this practice increases healthcare cos...

Strange Lincare Experience

I had a strange experience with Lincare. Asking if any of you had the same. I called them to order CPAP supplies. After locating me by name, Birthday, address they told me what my supplies will contain. That list contained everything (heated hose, water chamber, ...). I told them that I do not need ...

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage Plans

Sheriff, Whether you have a HMO or PPO, the insurance might not approve (or try not to approve) some surgeries. Each plan has what it covers and conditions for approval. Unfortunately we don't usually find out about them until too late. I have found some insurance providers are trickier than others....

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage Plans

I think Pugsy is right on the spot. You have to study insurances: Medicare, Medicare with supplements and Medicare Advantage. Decide the amount of risk you are willing to take. Do the math: probabilities and worst case. Then take an informed decision. Until last year I was on company insurance. They...

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage Plans

I switched to Medicare on 01/01/2020 and did extensive research before doing that. You can always switch plans every year during the open enrollment period; so the risk is limited to an year. You can get any plan and always go back to original medicare. There is one caveat: if you are getting a supp...

I purchased a CMS50F pulse oximeter. I need USB to serial UART driver to load my data in to OSCAR. The OSCAR provided URL is asking my company email address. Is there some kind soul who is willing to share this driver with me? I am running ubuntu 18.04.4.

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

I want to take medicare advantages. How to start or join? If you are already on Medicare or you are starting at age 65, now (until Dec 7) is the enrollment period. Go to the website medicare.gov. There, after providing your zip code, you can find all the Medicare Advantage plans available to you. C...

Re: Routine endoscopic screening with known sleep apnea - accommodations?

I get an endoscopy every two years. About 10 years ago, I was asked to bring the cpap. It is for the recovery period. But recently, they did not ask for CPAP. When I asked they said it is not necessary.

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

Here in Southern California many Advantage plans put on presentations touting how wonderful they are. Some agents present multiple plans they represent. The local medical center brings in a group of agents to present how wonderful the various plans are. I attend several of these meetings each year ...

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

Have you turned 65 yet, or are you going to turn 65 next year. If you are not 65 yet, you do not need to make a choice at this time, but it doesn't hurt to start thinking about the various plans. Medicare advantage plans vary greatly depending on where you live. Plans offered by companies vary from...

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

We take advantage of the free senior insurance consultation--EVERY FALL. In my state, it is SHIIP. First timers can go in any time, even though renewal time is in the fall. They will compare plans available in your area, along with your current medications. Sometimes, delaying medicare will cost yo...
