Has anybody had traveling issues with CPAP?

I've already traveled extensively with CPAP. I've not had any issues thus far. All the machines that I've taken were compatible with foreign voltage, only an adapter (not a converter) was needed.

Has anybody ever had any issues?

Re: They Tell Me I Need This Machine

Instead of saying that you just can’t stand it, please enumerate the problems. Once they are stated, I think that they can be dealt with. Here are some examples (they might not be your problems): 1. The mask is making my face sore. 2. The straps are very uncomfortable. 3. The forehead piece is irri...

Re: Counterfeited masks ???

Strange...e-bay does not allow the sale of complete CPAP masks. I would like to see a web site....can you post one here? My old insurance (prior to Obamacare) did not pay for masks and supplies. I always ordered masks and supplies from E-bay (only when listed as "new"). I never had an issue with an...

Inadequate and delayed diagnoses and inadequate compliance!

These have been problems from the beginning. Both are getting better over time, but all too slowly! More publicity leads to more diagnoses. Smaller and easier to use machines, and more comfortable masks lead to better compliance. Sleep Apnea is much more common than even most doctors realize. Patie...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"

As a cardiac patient, this article almost ruined my day until I got to the 3.3 hours of use part. What a disreputable misleading article. If I had read this before I started on CPAP, I probably wouldn't have started treatment because I was not aware of the oxygen desats I was having. Now my oxygen ...

Re: What about thunderstorms?

Use a good surge suppressor if you're worried about that. If it says not for medical equipment, they put that so that you won't be able to successfully sue them of something goes wrong (use it anyhow).

Of course, I have the good sense to use CPAP all night.

I'm pretty sure the same applies to me.

Re: Pros/cons of getting a new machine

What is not stated, but seems to be the case is (1) that you don't have insurance, (2) that you have insurance that does not cover a new CPAP at all, or (3) your insurance will not replace a CPAP that still works. I had the #3 situation several years ago. If you do get a replacement, please hold on ...

Re: Traveling with CPAP

OK, this does not sound like “it works here but not there.” It sounds more like it works sometimes and not other times. One thing I can suggest is that once you get it to power on, just leave it on (24/7) until you have to take it out of the house for repair or inspection. If you live in the U.S., m...

Re: Can Cpap postpone a likely MI? - I say "probably"

First, let me reiterate that I am not a doctor and what I am saying should not be considered medical advice. Most studies state that CPAP compliance indeed does improve heart health. There's a more recent study that appears to indicate otherwise, but that study appears to be on patients who are only...

Re: Dream Station Humidifier Problems

Note that I find if I set the max humidification setting, all the water evaporates before I wake up in the morning. Thus, I sometimes get a burning smell due to an empty water chamber. Since I always wake up at least once for a restroom visit, I refill at that time. If you sleep through the night, y...
