Travel to Mexico
Heading to Baja CA Sur soon, and wondering if an adapter is needed for my ResMed 9 Autoset? I called CPAP.com because I didn't think one was necessary but wanted to check. The operator said yes, it's Central America, but in googling, it seems that US, Canada & Mexico all use the same plugs, etc. Any Mexico travel veterans out there who can verify that no extra equipment is needed? Many thanks.
Re: Travel to Mexico
Mexico uses the same plugs and voltage as Canada, the US, and most of Central America. The voltage doesn't matter, as your CPAP will adjust to any voltage in use throughout the world. If you don't stay in a modern hotel, you might find the older sockets that only accommodate two prong plugs and don't accommodate polarized plugs (if one prong is slightly larger than the other, it's polarized). You can bring the adapter for that or a universal adapter. Also, I suggest bringing an extension cord in case the socket is far from the bed.
Re: Travel to Mexico
You might bring along a travel surge protector too.
I have a battery backup (Medistrom) and a surge protector at home and for travel.

Re: Travel to Mexico
In Mexico, you can use the same surge protector that you use in Canada or the U.S. However, in many countries the voltage is different so you need a travel surge suppressor (or one suited for the local electricity).
