Do they sell cpap machines in mexico?

Post by nawchem » Wed Apr 18, 2018 1:36 am

My dr keeps fiddling around and won't order a cpap for me or a new hose although I got them in 2006. I can't really afford this but thought I could get some kind of deal down there if they do retail and don't require a prescription. I've been asking since sept. Last week she told me not to come back until I get my sleep study. Both of my prior studies took 2 visits to complete so I'm looking at 3 months. I haven't seen the insurance approve anything in less than 2 months. I really, really need help.

I was offered a good job when I graduated in December in a clinical lab but I was too tired to go overnight and am waiting for my cpap. So now I'm a cashier at a discount store making minimum wage. I'm so angry I cry every single day about this.

You can order a hose anywhere without a prescription. I do not think used machines from secondwindcpap.com require a prescription

I don't think I can afford a hose. i found the receipt for my last one and it was $250. I mean I was that close to living on the street. I don't have car insurance and defaulted on credit card just trying to get thru school. So far tonight I haven't been able to get my cpap to work at all.

If you can use a standard (non-heated hose) they are available on ebay for under $5 with free shipping. No prescription needed.
There are lots of good machines available on Craigslist.

If you have Amazon Prime this appears to be the least expensive hose.

Our sponsor has this one.

For unheated hoses the connections are standard, I believe.

I do not understand your comment about losing a good job because you were too tired? What are you saying? Please explain.

Everything as far as CPAP goes can be bought in Mexico; if you have the money. Of course, the last part is the problem.

It seems that you have a good command of English. Since you're Mexican, I assume that your command of Spanish is at least as good.

Thanks so much you guys. I am in US but I already use Mexican pharmacy for expensive drug 1/10 the price there. I live on the border.

I am a chemist who went back to school after a very bad injury. I spent the rehab time back in school getting license to do hospital lab work. Everyone in my class then goes to work at a clinic doing everything we can do without the actual license. Get the license and you get a great job then. The jobs are the night shift and I am waiting to fix cpap problem because I'm so exhausted i cannot cope already.

I realized that I have a dumb dr and I will not get a good result with her. My next day off I'm going to urgent care and ask for a prescription.

My board exam is in 6 weeks I need to put my time and energy into that.

I happened to get a letter from the insurance co. asking me to rate my dr. I explained the whole situation in the letter. Maybe it will help someone with her.

I am not aware of any country where CPAP is illegal or otherwise not available (except perhaps as described below). Some countries might require a prescription, with enforcement being much stricter in some countries (and regions of countries) than others. I don't think that this applies to Mexico, in any case.

The biggest obstacles are very primitive countries with little access to consumer goods, poverty making CPAP unaffordable, lack of reliable electricity on which to run CPAP, and lack of access to medical care to know that one even needs CPAP or that such a thing exists. I don't think any of this, except poverty, applies to the OP.
