a few cosmetic problems
Hi --- everyone here helped me so much when I first got my machine, but after all was well I quit posting. That was 3 years ago and now I've noticed some very disturbing changes in my face from my mask. I use the nasal pillows and it appears that my left nostril has enlarged. Also, my nostrils are a...

Re: tooth extraction and cpap
Thanks everyone. I love this board --- everyone is so friendly and willing to help --- you have calmed my fears. I went to the oral surgeon yesterday for the consultation. He said my cpap machine is fine --- He mentioned what you said -- full mask may be uncomfortable, but I use nasal pillows so the...

tooth extraction and cpap
Hi everyone -- it's been a year since I have posted as I've had no problems with my therapy and I LOVE it. However, I now have a concern. I am having a back molar extracted and have read that any suction can cause a dry socket ---- can't use straws, spit, smoke etc ------ what about using my machine...

Re: Any suggestions???
Thanks everyone. The redness is not on the outside -- it's just at the beginning of the inside of my nostrils. I'll purchase the Lansinoh right away. Nate I also looked at the WISP --- that looks small enough to be comfortable. I'll go to my local CPAP store to be fitted. I do think it may work for ...

Any suggestions???
Hi everyone --- I posted lots of questions when I was first diagnosed about a year ago and you were so helpful. Now I have a problem ---- I use the nasal pad mask ---- however it causes redness and irritation just inside my nose. People probably think that I have a cold because of the red nasal cavi...

Re: Update - Positional Sleep Apnea Therapy
Mars --- those articles were very interesting. It does sound kind of like what I have ----- however, since I've started on my CPAP I can sleep on my back with no problem. I'll do more reading about this because also last year I choked on some water or something and coughed so hard that my throat clo...

Re: Update - Positional Sleep Apnea Therapy
Twice last year, just as I was falling to sleep on my back, I felt my throat close ---- it was unnerving. I rolled to my side and was fine. That's why I went to the sleep doctor. I have always slept fine and had no idea that I had apnea. I do have Bruxism and at times restless leg. I also think I've...

Re: software for PR system one Remstar Plus
The PR System One Remstar Pro is the 450 model..anything less in model number does not offer full data. I am sorry. I thought you understood the various models and what they offered. I thought we had covered that Pudgy -- if wasn't your information that confused me ----- you've been very helpful. It...

Re: software for PR system one Remstar Plus
So if I can't use the software why should I purchase a model that costs a lot more than the basic model (150) The software tech from Respironics had me go to a place (properties or something) on my old Dell --- since a patch 2 had been installed he said the software will work. Of course I have no re...

Re: software for PR system one Remstar Plus
Yep, I screwed up ---Thank goodness I caught my error within an hour of ordering the wrong product. I did order the Plus and then when I went back I read that it only records compliance. They canceled my order for me. I will order the Pro. I called Respironics and the software tech thinks it will wo...

software for PR system one Remstar Plus
I can't use the software on my MAC. My old 1998 Dell PC is (I think) 32 bit so that's OK. However, when reading the info on the software it says for Pentium 3 and above. My PC is a pentium 2. What do you think --- will it work? Here I've gone to all this trouble for a data capable machine and I don'...

More questions re: data capable
Hi-- I'm back with more questions. In August I posted a lot when I was first diagnosed and sent to a DME to purchase a used machine. I was not using my insurance because I didn't have a sleep study. Anyway, the DME sold me a PR System Remstar 150 which only logs leaks and time used. I paid $950.00 f...

Re: OT: Hurricane Irene
Plus the storm surge is just as bad with a cat 1 as a cat 3. NO NO NO The strength of a storm surge is directly proportional to the wind and wave speed less any natural obstructions such as reefs, etc. Roger That's what I always thought, but tonight on the weather channel they said the surge with t...

Re: Since APAP getting less sleep but feel more energy
Two more questions --- how long have you been on cpap? Did your BP decrease with cpap? I am not one to compare the naps to as I have never taken naps in my life -- I was never sleepy --- just exhausted mostly in the afternoons.

Re: Since APAP getting less sleep but feel more energy
That's exactly what is happening to me. I am waking up maybe twice a night (I didn't used to do that much), but I am requiring fewer hours of sleep and I do seem (I think) to have more energy during the day. I always HAD TO HAVE 71/2 to 8 hours a night and now I seem fine on 7 hours. I was going to ...
