Re: Second Sleep Study Kinda in Denial
I kind of got talked into having my sleep apnea looked into by an anesthesiologist and my wife who said my snoring was unbearable, the long periods of not breathing kept her up even more wondering if I would start again, plus I struggled to breath evidently, and suffered severe night sweats. I talke...

Re: I thought it was car a stuck in the snow
My wife thinks my 60 series bipap pro is the greatest thing in the world. I'm told I snore loudly, which is evidently quite bad in itself and made worse by the "not breathing" thing. She finds the relative quiet, and steady breathing rhythm I now have to be a blessing. After just over a month on the...

Re: Made my 1st 30 days under mask
I'll try and fire up the desktop and post some charts tomorrow. To get my numbers any lower I'll probably have to go to a VPAP/ADAPT SV machine according to the sleep doctor. He wanted to try me on a BIPAP for awhile first to see if I would settle down to more normal numbers with it after I had used...

Made my 1st 30 days under mask
I made it through my first 30 days with my Bipap, and managed to use it every time I went to bed. I only had 1 day with less than 4 hrs, and that is because I had to sit up with a sick dog most of the night. According to Sleepyhead, I averaged 7.42 hrs of use a night with the following averages: AHI...

Re: Woohoo! It's Christmas in May!
These machines are amazing in how much better they make you feel. I was skeptical that I needed this thing, but quickly started researching once I found out how much better I felt while using it. I also had no difficulty sleeping through the night at first, in large part because I was so tired. Afte...

Re: Leg pain during and After Study
You were sleeping on a different bed than you normally sleep on. Any chance the mattress was to soft or hard resulting in pressure point, sciatic nerve inflammation or something along those lines? Can't think of anything otherwise that is done during a sleep study that could cause pain

Re: Just finished first sleep study
I'm only three weeks in to this, but am now finding the benefits far outweigh the struggle to accept paying out good cash for a machine that makes me mad and keeps me from sleeping. I feel a ton better. I was a little different than you. I was so tired, I went to sleep in 7 minutes halfway through t...

Re: My Introduction, couple questions
After 3 weeks, I think I've settled on the Mirage Quattro mask I originally started with. It tends to leak a little into my eyes, but nowhere near as bad as the other masks I've tried. The biggest problem with it is it eats my nose. I currently build myself nose pads using moleskin, but hopefully my...

Re: Feeling disappointed in myself
If it's primarily the noise keeping you from sleeping, you might find that the foam type ear plugs help. I've found them comfortable enough to sleep in easily, and have used them a lot to sleep in high noise areas over the years, ie. Desert military airfield, close to runway, tent, diesel generator ...

Re: My Introduction, couple questions
I haven't actually got a follow up appointment yet. The doctor just said to bring in my data card after the first month and they'd take it from there. I do know that the reason they had me come in the second night to use a BIPAP rather than CPAP machine was because they said I had too many centrals ...

Re: My Introduction, couple questions
A lot of the Centrals seem to have clustered starting shortly after I'm falling asleep, and surprisingly, on days the alarm clock is waking me up, they start about 15 minutes or so prior to the alarm going off. It's hard to say for sure though because my sleep pattern has been so broken up the last ...

My Introduction, couple questions
I’m very new to the BIPAP scene, with a whopping 9 nights of “Therapy” so far. As far as I can tell, I’ve had sleep apnea for 35 years or so, with it first brought to my attention in my military basic training, where the dorm guards would comment on how loud I snored, and how long I would go without...

Re: SleepyHead Series 60 Patch Avail
Thank you so much for the help. I was sure I had copied the patch right, but I evidently messed up somehow. Then again, after 54 years of practice, I haven't even got sleeping down to a science yet. My version of sleepyhead now says version 9.3 and it appears to be working correctly. Once I think I'...

Re: SleepyHead Series 60 Patch Avail
For a newbie like me, this forum is great. I came to it as I just had my first night on a Bipap machine last night after two sleep studies. On the first one determined my baseline AHI at 102, average o2 88 percent, low o2 76 percent. The first night, they tried a CPAP machine on me about halfway thr...
