Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
I am 99% sure the most important thing for these companies when it comes to setting up a contract isn't quality of service, it is cost. What is the cheapest option for us. That is what the U.S healthcare is all about putting profit first. If only they could get rid of having to treat *patients* and...

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
Too bad US healthcare is so amazingly dysfunctional, even over the simplest things like routine medical supplies.

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
Anyone else forced to use Apria? Also how is Apria convincing all of these companies to use them exclusively, are they offering deep discounts? I am beginning to wonder if technically my DME is my medical group and Apria who they contract with to get supplies sent. For Kaiser, that is exactly the c...

Re: AHI according to CPAP vs At Home Sleep study
So, here I am trying to see if CPAP's recording of AHI is a fair indication that I might have sleep apnea. My machine is poorly set up, but I managed to prevent the mask from leaking. Is it possible to infer from the machine's recording of AHI whether I have sleep apnea? Something to keep in mind i...

Re: Can this be attempted (or even actual) murder?: Burglar makes off with man's sleep apnea machine
It's not an 'enemies" list, it's a "noise" list. There's a difference... No, there really isn't. You are attacking the person, not their arguments, to cut off people you don't like from being able to engage in legitimate conversation as if it is your forum. You are preemptively trying to deplatform...

Re: Can this be attempted (or even actual) murder?: Burglar makes off with man's sleep apnea machine
Pointing out that the noise source that created the thread, and the noise source that thought it was worth reading are both listed in my sig. Wow, you put an enemies list in your sig. You are seriously vindictive and hostile. I've **never** seen a list like that on any forum I've read. It's a nadir...

Re: Can this be attempted (or even actual) murder?: Burglar makes off with man's sleep apnea machine
Another useful post from the bottom of D.H.'s Waste Basket. No-One died, just the post was the harmed in the making of the link. Jim Personally, I find it an interesting question. CPAPs are stolen. And not everyone can get a replacement quickly. What are the legal liabilites for depriving someone o...

Re: Any experience with HME's with F20/F30 masks?
The F20 and F30 oronasal masks have built in passive vents and anti-rebreathing valves (which let you breathe room air directly through the valve if the CPAP blower turns off) so you don't suffocate. An HME doesn't work if there is a passive vent on the mask side of the HME venting the moisture out....

Re: Can continued CPAP use affect at-home test result?
The sleep test says: AHI 2.4 OAI 0.2 CAI 0.4 Lowest Desat(oxygen level) 89 But my CPAP says my last night's AHI, taken over 4 hours, was 8.5. Is it possible my practice has affected the test result? How reliable is an at-home test? That is a pretty dramatic difference. CPAP treats sleep apnea but i...

Re: Short Duration OSA has higher mortality rate
Question is: how to get folks with a low arousal threshold to be able to use XPAP successfully, especially as their arousal threshold is problematic with the current treatment. I think I fit in to this category and I think it is one reasons that PAP therapy hasn't been a big improvement in how rest...

Re: ResMed F30 needs a large cushion
The medium cushion was not really wide enough for my nose, and the cushion has stiff sidewalls, which pinched the sides of my nostrils. This had two negative effects - pinching my nose a little made it harder to breath through my nose if the cushion wasn't sitting just right, and because it was not...

Re: Look what resmed added to myAir app
Ugh. Just more compliance crap. Even with the bar charts myAir is a *compliance* app and nothing more. Just look at the weighting of the "myAir score" - AHI, the primary metric doctors use for the success of PAP therapy, is only 5% of the the myAir "score". The other 95% is all compliance. :-/ But, ...

Re: tsa and carry on water
Then you should be asking them for refund or damages, because I believe that they specifically include airline travel, especially the little travel bottles. The Nalgene travel kit of "leakproof" bottles includes a leak resistant bag to contain leaks from their leakproof bottles: "So we developed th...

Re: tsa and carry on water
I believe that Nalgene still guarantees there water bottles to be leak proof and the largest they sell is 48oz. I don't have any stock in the company but I have always liked their stuff and been impressed by the guarantee. I don't do a lot of flying but so far my little travel bottles have never di...

Re: Beard Club Members
Have not been able to get a good seal with the new ResMed AirTouch F20 (memory foam). Only 3 nights under my belt. My beard is short (< 1/2 in) but I usually have it 3-4 in long. Yes, I got carried away with the clippers. Advice from other beardy folks about getting a better fit ? A number o...
