SleepyHead project needs volunteers to help with documentation

Post by jedimark » Mon Apr 23, 2018 7:16 pm

Hi all,

The SleepyHead project needs some help from volunteers familiar with SleepyHead, Sleep Apnea topics and experienced with creating end user Documentation, who are prepared to Creative Commons/GPL their work so it can be included as a compiled Help document in the official SleepyHead releases, as well as used on SleepyHead's official website (sleepyhead.jedimark.net).

What's needed is a User Guide and a Quick start/Beginners Guide, written from the context of the upcoming 1.1.0 release.

ApneaBoard has made it clear they'd prefer the SleepyHead project would not use their SleepyHead Beginners Guide without directly sending users to ApneaBoard's wiki, which isn't in itself an issue (with ApneaBoard being non-commercially aligned and all), however that doesn't help us for offline/included documentation, or translation purposes. We will need to start a new one from scratch where we can be confident about the open documentation license and usage rights, that we can share with the whole world.

It would be optimal if we could find someone willing (and with enough spare time) to take on a lead role organising SleepyHead project's documentation, to help recruit others and keep writing style consistent and user friendly, who is willing to work closely with Arie Klerk and the rest of SleepyHead's translation team.

If that's you, or you just want to help out (or learn how to build from sourcecode and help test), please come join us on SleepyHead's Discord chat server: https://discord.gg/2JMHzPf

Sleep Well,
Jedimark
