ASV is different therapy not necessarily better.
I'm well aware of the differences in ASV and ST therapy, thank you.

If you feel that ST works well enough for you, then feel free to stick with it.... but, ASV is better.
...your opinion is noted. Thank you.

Re: Resmed S9 VPAP ST for sale.

It's not my ASV... and the ASV is the gold standard for treatment of Central Apnoeas much more comfortable than an ST I know I've used both. Sorry, Jas - missed your recommendation on the quick read. ST works fine for me as it helps with other underlying conditions. Glad ASV works well for you.

Re: Resmed S9 VPAP ST for sale.

Thanks Jas. Looking for ST as needed to control my centrals. Good luck selling your ASV. He's recommending you look for an ASV, they're better than ST machines. Thanks Palerider as I missed the recommendation vs. offer. I sleep fine, Avg. AH1 <1, with short events and centrals are rare now. In fact...

Re: New Machine - Worse Results BiLevel vs Auto CPAP

I'd fire your doctor, and then just get another S9 VPAP ST or AirCurve 10 ST used online. They operate the same so the S9 of course should be cheaper. I'd just buy a new humidifier for the s9, or a new silicone seal for the inside of the s9. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-s9-h5i-heated-hum...

Re: New Machine - Worse Results BiLevel vs Auto CPAP

So, went to my ENT to see about getting scrip for replacement and he offered a new machine Respironics Dreamstation AutoCPAP with AFlex. My doctor sung the praises of the auto vs bilevel and that I would enjoy the benefits of this over my old machine What utter and complete hogwash. If you actually...

Yeah, not too happy at this point as I protested initially and was rejected as he told me via his staff that I needed to try and fail on the Auto CP...

Re: New Machine - Worse Results BiLevel vs Auto CPAP

The equivalent new machine to your S9 VPAP ST is a Resmed Aircurve VPAP ST your VPAP ST is not a basic bilevel it has a backup rate which if configured appropriately can encourage you to breath and treat Central Apnoea. The new machine you have been prescribed cannot treat CA's. post a daily chart ...

Re: New Machine - Worse Results BiLevel vs Auto CPAP

Well for one thing the S9 VPAP ST is a totally different machine from the DreamStation Auto CPAP. Agreed. Was surprised the same Doc who prescribed the S9 prescribed the DreamStation. Nothing against it as it seems like a fine machine. I suspect from numerous comments that the sleep specialist that...

New Machine - Worse Results BiLevel vs Auto CPAP

Hi All, I've been 100% compliant on my Resmed S9 VPAP ST with great results for 6 years - from titration of 36 AHI with events up to 3 minutes, including centrals to <1AHI and rare centrals. Took some dialing in, but I have only had to adjust my min/max based on weight fluctuations occasionally. My ...

Looking to switch to Auto - Suggestions

So I mentioned in another post how I've lost enough weight and went from 36 events an hour down to 7. My machine and pressures don't seem to match my new state. My doc said based on the study he couldn't recommend changing anything as I still have decent numbers. What I know is that the therapy is n...

Re: Back to the Land of the Lost

Thanks for the advice everyone. In step with my airway opening up my aerophagia increased so I lowered the pressures gradually over a few months. I still wake up sometimes with a lot of pain (all trapped air). Running in ST mode, IPAP 12.6, EPAP 8.6, Rate 12, Rise 300, trigger Med. My wife says I sn...

Back to the Land of the Lost

So - what happens when you follow the doctor's orders and your AHI improves? You wind up in the Land of the Lost. I went from 36 events/hr. to 7 and my longest event down from 2.5 minutes to 20 seconds according to my last sleep study after a year and half on the BiPap and losing 40 pounds. Great ri...
