Transcend Auto Pressure Issue

Post by Guest » Sun Jul 23, 2017 10:09 pm

I just purchased the Transcend Auto and the air pressure goes from nothing then to way too much. I have been using a CPAP for roughly 10 years and have never come across anything like this. I can breath in an out a time or 2 before it blasts the air pressure which felt like it was going to pop my eardrums. I have a RESMED Airsense 10 auto that works wonderfully but I don't want to use it for travel.

Did you set the pressure yourself? Perhaps it is set to go to something high?

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Without knowing the therapeutic settings for BOTH machines, all we can do is speculate.

It's also important to know whether you use a ramp on the AirSense 10, and if so, whether your ramp is set to Auto Ramp or not. If you use a ramp on the AirSense, then we also need to know whether you have a ramp set up on the Transcend and how it is set up.

It's also important to know whether you have EPR turned on for the AirSense and whether the Transcend has a form of exhalation relief and whether it's turned on.

It has pressure relief, ramp setting, auto pressure range from 5-20, with ramp setting (5min) the same as my Resmed. I tried all the pressure relief setting including off and then i even tried fixed and nothing made a difference. I called the manufacturer and it's going back to them for diagnostics. It will take a week to ship there, a day of testing and then roughly take 5 days to get it shipped back. Very disappointing with spending $500 and having medical equipment fail right out of the box. I also feel that with the amount of pressure that it sends could actually hurt someone, just my opinion though. I also won't be able to take it on my trip which bums me out as well.

There are 338 reviews on the Transcend at cpap.com. A few people had similar problem...did you read them?

I read some of the reviews and the complaint I saw the most was the noise related. Must have missed the pressure issues but there are a lot of positive reviews, maybe it's just the luck of the draw.

Guest: I have the same issue you discussed with my new Transcend Auto miniCPAP™ Machine with EZEX purchased for travel in distant lands. I could not tell from the post if you were able to get the problem with to much pressure resolved. Were you able to resolve the matter? and What did you do? Who helped and how? how long did it take? Thanks in advance for your response.

There seems to be a problem with the programming. I replaced the first unit I got because it blew massive air and there was no adjusting pressure on the program. It was useless.

the second machine worked better at first. I had it set for 6-8 range on the humidifier. Not as quiet or comfortable as my Dreamstation, but it was doable as a second machine. then I traveled. without the humidifier I had to reset the pressure to the very lowest, 4. Not perfect but still better than no machine. However, very gradually over a month the quality went down hill. It got noisier, until it reverted to full pressure mode and shutting itself off.

I need a travel machine and don't know whether to chance a 3rd replacement. Is it just luck to get one that isn't a lemon?
