Re: Something I Hate

Taking the mask off has no effect. Unplugging the mask from the hose works IMMEDIATELY. Go figure. At this point you answered your question. Auto off does work, however your mask, or settings are causing the machine to think it needs to remain on. Fiddling with the settings or a different mask woul...

Re: Emergency- part needed

If you were remotely close to me I could easily repair your cords. Maybe you can find someone nearby that can help if you don't find any other option. It would at least get your machine running even if long enough to get a new part in the mail.

I would think any TV repair shop could help you.

Re: Cpap machine - how long till works?

I can tell you that the first month was way worse and more tired then I've ever been. For it it was getting used to the thing on my face. I'm very sensitive to just about every touch or sounds or anything different than my normal.

Do autoimmune issues run on your moms side ? My pain seems to flair more near a full moon and I think that is what keeps me awake. My mother does have an autoimmune problem. I get a bad case of insomnia the couple days around and during a full moon though I think to me its the extra light because i...

Ask to be tested for multiple sclerosis
So far I've been tested for that and lots of other stuff and everything is coming up as negative, I guess that's good, but it would be nice to find something and maybe start recovering.

Re: Do CPAP machines use a lot of electricity?

According to the manual your machine's peak power is just over 100watts so its like leaving a light bulb on for 8 hours a day and wouldn't raise your bill by more than a few dollars/month at its maximum power.

Re: Cpap machine - how long till works?

If we assume your not having any difficulty with falling asleep or sleeping with this thing on your face blowing air down your throat then a month or two could be all you need to "feel results". Now if any of it is giving you any trouble even making you not sleep quite as well as you used to even th...

Re: Dojiscalper's therapy thread

I'm just not sure where to go with this. Maybe I had a lot of these symptoms before XPAP, but didn't notice due to being "normal" extremely tired and just living like I always have without a clue except that I would drive off the road or fall asleep at stop lights from time to time? The big issue is...

Rheumatology is the home for many mysterious hard-to-diagnose problems. Had you seen a rheumatologist?
I have finally found a primary care doctor who scheduled me with a lot of the experts. I haven't been to a rheumatologist as of yet.

Re: Provigil

What are your objections to trying Provigil? Is it an objection to drugs in general or is it specific to this drug? Based on what I read in Wikipedia, it seems to be a drug you can take for a short period of time and then discontinue. So you could take it for 3 days to see if it helps. If it does, ...

Re: Switching cpap machines

Max is just "max" it allows the machine to go that high if it sees a need. If it doesn't need it it won't go high. Personally my old machine hit 19 all the time and I ended up getting a bilevel machine that could go higher than 20. Since then it runs in the 22 range and I have excellent apnea control.
