Re: Needing help with CPAP
Okay, thanks to LSAT I was able to get a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAUTO. I am using it at pretty much default settings except I raised the EPAP to just under where I had my Dreamstation set to see what the new machine would do. IMHO the charts look better so far and I haven't gotten down to tuning the set...

Re: CPAP vs APAP
If the CPAP was set to a pressure of 10 and you had mostly no events until for example you rolled to your back then you'd need more pressure to correct this. This is where the APAP shines. You set it to a pressure range of say 10 minimum and the max at 20 and the machine will be at 10 and prevent mo...

Re: Albino's Therapy Thread
One of the craziest things for me has been that I have never been a morning person and never took a shower in the morning, always in the evening. Now I take one every morning and am totally awake. Another thing that changed is that I actually get tired in the evening now. These two things are totall...

Child with sleep apnea
I have two daughters and one of them seems to sleep very normal and even gets out of bed at the appropriate times each day and gets ready for school without any trouble. The other however is very hard to get moving in the morning and always has been even before she could walk, getting her changed an...

Re: Albino's Therapy Thread
I felt I had adjusted well to a min pressure of 7 so I bumped it up to 8 last night and as expected, a slight increase in AHI but I tolerated it and slept quite well. Also a correction to my therapy history, I thought I had turned a-flex off but it's actually still set to 1. I was wondering though,...

Re: How can I remove water from O2 tubing?
True that it won't be much air. The question was how to get water out of the line, in winch case cpap would provide some air movement through the small line and would eventually dry out the tubing. It was just a suggestion to solve a current problem using what is readily available.

Re: How can I remove water from O2 tubing?
In compressing air to make sure there is no moisture the two main things are making sure the air coming into the compressor is dry and then after the air is compressed you need an inline water filter to catch the rest. If I had tubing for medical use and needed to remove water from it I'd probably b...

Re: Strange Cpap results.
Hello all, I'm a 59-year-old retired male with sleep apnea. My study showed 48 events per hour. I also suffer from depression and take Effexor for that, at the moment that is the only medication I am taking. When I use my CPAP my Events per hour goes to around 4 when I first got it I didn't have an...

Re: Sleepy head crashes my computer
PC tech is my area of expertise and its a little odd that the software would crash your computer. First thing I would try is starting the software without the SD card installed and then just try to look at old data or settings, etc. If that works fine next I would shut down the program and insert th...

Re: Needing help with CPAP
I had a really crappy doctor and I'm looking for a new one, but not trying that hard. I might have to just buy the equipment myself.

Re: Needing help with CPAP
Thanks for the quick response. I try to sleep on my side but I hate it and I end up on my back a lot.
I really have problems talking to people, social anxiety disorder lol, so how would the conversation with a doctor go?

Re: 1st timer mask questions
All masks have the vent which does create a built in leak which increases with air pressure. Using software such as sleepyhead you can see if the leak rate is within normal for your mask or if its excessive which would mean you would need to make adjustments or get a different mask for your face sha...
