Weekly energy patterns

Post by stevej1234 » Thu May 23, 2019 1:59 pm

Do you all notice different energy levels among different days of the week?

Typically working full time Monday through Friday and then sleeping in on the weekend, I have this experience:

Monday - Average day
Tuesday - Very fatigued, worst day of the week ("the second Monday")
Wednesday - somewhat fatigued
Thursday - Relatively energetic - Best day of the week.
Friday - Average
Saturday - High fatigue/lethargy
Sunday - Average day

Zonker x2

Every morning has the potential to be a get up and go go go day or .... a couch day and leave me alone. No rhyme or reason.

   i understand the gist of what you say, but i DO have a tendency to try to have SOME sort of schedule, even if it's just to keep the days separated!

In other words, some days you feel like you are riding a bicycle with round wheels and sometimes one with square wheels.

But seriously, however, I have a noticeable day to day patterns of energy levels. I thought some OSA folks might experience it too.

The interesting part I wonder is, what's stopping every day from being a more energetic day like Thursday? My guess is sleeping in on the weekend and getting up at a fixed time during the week gives my body this schedule.

I never know when I'm going to get a good day or a bad day. It would be nice to plan around it. If anything, I notice when its a full moon. I don't sleep much.

Read some of the post on sleep hygiene. Repetition most nights lead to better sleep. going to bed at the same time getting up at the same time, if you need to partake on a little bit of alcohol I can no longer have any after 5 and expect a "decent" sleep. Studies have shown that just like a lot of meds it will distrupt sleep patterns.

Interesting that the full moon came up. Everyone on my mom's side of my family notices that we have bad nights during the days around full moons.

When I was working at the hospital we all use to dread the full moon. Studies have said that it did not make a difference but boy oh boy we sure had some interesting people come through the doors

My work shift is the same, but my days off vary. So, I may work a day, then day off, work 3 days, day off, works 6 days, 2 days off, etc. Then i mix it up by going to weekend events that throw off my sleep schedule. There aren't as many now, none this month, but two next month. I will suddenly be doing 3-4 days straight with early morning waking up while I am normally a severe night owl.

To make this worse, I have anissue with iron deficiency, and I am lousy at remembering to take them. When I get noticeably low, I am very tired all day, easy to get out of breath, and my sleep is disturbed by restless legs. I will get home from work and fall asleep while my dinner is in the microwave. On a day off, I will sleep late, get up and eat, then fall asleep while watching tv. After finally getting diagnosed and treated, I do recognize the symptoms when they return, and then I get better and taking the iron for awhile.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Do autoimmune issues run on your moms side ? My pain seems to flair more near a full moon and I think that is what keeps me awake.

My mother does have an autoimmune problem. I get a bad case of insomnia the couple days around and during a full moon though I think to me its the extra light because if it happens to be cloudy during the full moon I don't think I notice the effect.
