I tried the search function here for the answer, but no luck. Thanks! to the left of the cluster of leaves design on the front, you'll find a rubber like co...

Re: CPAP Basics - 14 - CPAP Alternatives
Wow! Thank you for these links! Turns out that the Dr in the first video has his office very close to where I live! May go see him- so again, thanks. He's a Chiropractor...not an MD Yes, I know. Still call them "Dr". You might call someone that teaches math at the university 'Dr' too, but I wouldn'...

Additional info: The following 2017 study suggested that unpowered EPAP devices with full face masks can work: https://journal.chestnet.org/article/S0012-3692(17)32643-0/fulltext (I've only read the abstract.) Do any of you know of available off-the shelf devices meeting that description? As anothe...

Re: What to do when all methods of sleep apnea treatment are exhausted?
I hope you will persevere. It sounds as though you used machine for a while in the past, then stopped for a while, then started again fairly recently. Do I have the right picture? I switched to mandibular advancement for two plus years after the doctor clearly saw I had made a good effort to make C...

Re: New to CPAP- need nasal cushion help
Hi all, I'm new to the whole CPAP thing, having been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea- 69 events/hr and average of 20 secs per event. My doctor seemed surprised I was alive... ANYHOW- I've been trialling masks for a week now- originally with a Resmed Airfit N20, which I could sleep with, but felt ...

Re: First Night CPAP- Suffocating- Help!
Hello After increasing the pressure form 4 to 6 yesterday, I did not have that suffocating feeling last night- yeah! BUT I kept getting air pushing out of my mouth which constantly woke me up, so unfortunately I only made 3 hours last night with CPAP- and my insurance wants a minimum of 4 hours :-(...

Re: First Night CPAP- Suffocating- Help!
For success in placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth to block leaks, the tip of your tongue should be forward just behind your front teeth with the tongue flattened and fully filling the roof with a suction seal. Is this the method you used? It can take some practice over time to get it to ...

Re: First Night CPAP- Suffocating- Help!
Hi That doesnt work for me. Not sure if its because I dont own it, and the insurance company monitors it?? Re: First Night CPAP- Suffocating- Help!
Try wearing your mask while awake reading or watching tv. Getting used to the strange thing on your face is easier while awake. If air is leaking out your mouth you can tape it shut, sometimes people have good luck wearing foam cervical collars or putting a pillow under their neck to keep their mou...
