Maximus is a Maine coon from Congo Coons. He is just under 23 lbs and actually a bit on the skinny side. Lots of soft fur and really doesn't hardly shed any of it. You can see a bit of his ( less than happy at the moment ) face in the pic below.Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 9:54 amIndeed a big kitty and beautiful to boot.
Realshelby...what kind of kitty? Do you know? Looks like a lot of Maine Coon might be in the blood lines.
Years ago I had a friend who had a solid black cat about that size...massive kitty...aptly named "Panther".
Sweet boy though.

I thought he looked Maine Coon. Beautiful cats. I was wanting one when I got Lily the Bengal bitch from hell but I couldn't find any Maine Coons around here at all ...much less any that I could afford so I read where Bengals got some good size and I found someone local needing to rehome Lily. We were a bit disappointed she never got anywhere near the usual size. She must have been a runt or something...maybe weights 10 or 12 pounds. Though now we are glad because her attitude and vocal cords make up for the lack of physical size. She has a perpetual scowl on her face and pretty much always in a bad mood...and very quick to cuss me out when she is unhappy with me. Not a loving kitty at all. Scares the crap out of Rocky when he sneaks in and his a champion fighter.realshelby wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 7:21 amMaximus is a Maine coon from Congo Coons. Everything is on her terms...when she wants me to pet her along with how I pet her.
It's funny how animals can have such diverse personalities and distinctive to boot.
Lucy is settling in quite nicely. Very loving dog....loves everyone and everything. Typical pug....huge heart filled with love and more than willing to share it with anyone who wants or needs it. I hadn't realized just how much I needed it myself.

It's fun to see how all the different animal personalities come across, even in pictures. P
Mine is my photo of course - she is my heart.
I learned to love dogs through my grandparents. They lived far away, and the one or two christmases the family spent with them, their dog had 10 gifts and the grandkids got nothing I knew where I was on the food chain! their dogs and cats withstood a lot of toddler play and I'll never forget seeing my grandma's dog love on her when she was sick or sad.
If you're interested in a good book, I liked the purpose of a dog. I think they made it into a movie as well, but I always prefer the book to the movie.

This is Taylor. She is a Shep/Lab mix. I got her from the local shelter when she was 4 months old. We have been family for 10 years now. She is the sweetest dog, very obedient, never tears anything up. I think her vocabulary is larger than mine in what she understands. She loves going places in the car. I never have to watch for the mailman or for a UPS delivery, she always lets me know when someone is at the front door. They have unbelievable senses. In Dog years, she and I will be the same age in June. 77. Although she is a lot faster than I am.

Re: OT: I am no longer pugless...pics of mine and I would like to see pics of your furbabies
So happy you found your pug Pugsy! What an arduous process that was...
Here's our housemates. I'll start with Cash (as in Johnny). We picked him up at an animal shelter - as we have all of our dogs. He's got some shepherd in him, and who knows what else. He chose my wife as his favorite, first time this has happened. I'm OK with this, because quite frankly he's a real pain in the ass for her when she walks in the door. You'd think she's been gone for years! I took this pic because there was a little moth flying around the lamp on the end table - and he just looked so damned concerned by it. He kept looking at me like, "Don't you SEE that! Aren't you going to DO something about it!". I suppose he was right. But I took his picture instead.
Cash is not bothered by thunder, a first for us. He actually seeks out the cause of all the ruckus. Heads to the back door. I let him out once just to see what he'd do. He went tearing out into a downpour to check it out. Here's Stanley. My younger daughter brought her home as a kitten while living with us briefly after graduating college. Of course, when my daughter moved out "I just can't take her, she's all settled in here. Besides she's your buddy, dad." Which is true to this day. She falls in the "to cute to not pet" category for me. This one makes me chuckle a lot - she has absolutely ZERO survival instincts, and the softest silkiest fur I've ever touched. Obviously comes from a long, long line of house cats. And this is Missy. My older daughter brought her home as a kitten when she was a senior in high school( seeing a trend here?). My daughter found her cowering by the dumpster at a convenience store. That was 2004, so Missy's getting up there. She started out as an outdoor cat, but is convalescing into a house cat. My wife calls Missy "Tic" - probably no explanation required here. And no, I don't know why our cats like to sit up in chairs like they are people.

This is Declan, while the Anthem was playing just before the Raptors beat the Bucks to move onto the NBA finals.
This is Rappy and Bango, my raptor and deer. They like to play together. Sometimes Rappy plays a little too rough on Bango.
Rappy play nice!
Okay, I don't really have a pet Velociraptor, they all died off 70 million years ago (7,000 years if you're a young earth creationist). And even if they didn't die off, they really didn't look like that. They had feathers and were a lot smaller.
And no, I don't have a pet deer either. I'm in the city and it's not zoned for even-toed ungulates. Besides, I live in a condo and the condo-committee wouldn't let me keep deer.

The only cat in the village .....
This week just passed, our elder cat crossed the rainbow bridge. He was so weak, I had to drop beads of water on his mouth as he couldn't drink. Despite his weakness, when the vet came, he tried to get away. He lived for years in our sunroom with his very feral partner. A few years back, he was alone then, so we cleaned him up and brought him in. He got to spend his last few years in luxury ..... inside the house and on my lap. This here is his daughter. We brought her in as a kitten and found homes for all her siblings. She has a darker and fluffier fur than her dad, but otherwise pretty much the same markings. She likes to hang out in bags and enjoys destroying them as well. Now, the only cat in the village. And here they are looking very much alike

This is my girl... I was sitting at the picnic table and felt a nudge on my back. I slowly turned and there she was.
She is walking with a bit of a limp so I think she may have been tagged by a car. She seems to be doing well now but likes to stop by and visit frequently.
