Deionized water vs distilled water

Anyone know the difference for CPAP purposes between the two? It is now impossible to find distilled water on store shelves, but my local WF does have a refill station for deionized water, whatever that is. It also has reverse osmosis water. Which is the closest to distilled water? I do experience r...

Re: Can't find distilled H20, try here

So I'm not going to describe the product like most people do because I don't want this to come up via google. However if you are in need of some distilled H2O for your CPAP, I found a good supply at Home Depot. The one I work for is small and it's in a wierd place so perhaps that's why we had some ...

Re: New user, is machine insurance worth it?

The contract is not clear. See this portion: "entitled to a device of equal value as their broken device" But equal value as their broken device as to which point in time? Is it the value of the device when broken? At purchase? At some period in the middle? How do they figure in depreciation? Are th...

Re: Medical grade tape to keep lips sealed

I use 3M Microfoam tape. Drooling will loosen the tape, so I use trimmed Poligrip strips to dam my lips and keep the moisture away from the tape. (Search this forum for Poligrip Strips) Because the dam sometimes fails, I do use a narrow strip of Micropore tape to supplement the foam tape. I have fo...

Somnifix strips work pretty well for me.
Thanks! They're unfortunately $20 for a 28 pack, which I think is a bit excessive.

Medical grade tape to keep lips sealed

Anyone know of any tape that we can use to keep our lips sealed for use with a nasal pillow? Don't want to use a full face mask. Thank you.

Were you camping? 😂 I live in Europe and my air is fine! I suppose it all depends exactly where you were using it. In a city of countryside. The air is definitely not worse than that of other countries.
No camping, just in major Italian cities! Mainly hotels, or airbnbs! Never used it outside!

The air filters do work!

I replaced my air filter (hypoallergenic version) about a month or so prior to my international trip (close to 3 weeks) in Europe. Most of the "damage" was done in Europe, as my room has an air purifier in it. Prior to leaving, I took a look at my original air filter that came with the device (used ...

Re: Get a tailor to make a protective shell for the reamed bag?

After completing my trip, I wish I had gone with my gut and had a tailor craft a thin waterproof protective shell for the resmed bag. Since I was traveling with my backpack and the resmed bag, there were plenty of times where I had to set the backpack and the resmed bag on the ground and it did get ...

Re: CPAP machine stopped working in Europe. Help!

Well, if you'd just bought the 5 dollar proper cord to use with your cpap, you wouldn't have these problems. Which $5 proper cable? Didn't know I was supposed to buy a new cord. Happy to buy one now and keep it for my next trip. I can only hope the machine remains in working condition with what I h...

Re: CPAP machine stopped working in Europe. Help!

Just tried the machine again this morning period somehow, a turn-on! I did nothing to to account for this. I wonder if it was because I had too many devices plugged into the adaptor at the same time? I had disconnected the phones, so not sure if that is it. I don't mind not having a cpap, but I only...

Update: my travel adapter cake with a spare fuse. I used it and still the CPAP won't turn on. Same issue with the green light

CPAP machine stopped working in Europe. Help!

I'm now almost a week into my trip to Italy (from usa) where my travel adapter (not converter) worked to convert the brick charger into something that will connect to the wall here in Europe. Tried to use machine tonight but not working. The port in the wall is active as I can use my adapter to char...

I can have a medical placard to help readily identify the bag, if needed

Re: Get a tailor to make a protective shell for the reamed bag?

Water concern could be resolved by 2 Gal zip lock freezer bags probably! Jim Also expanded polystyrene foam, could be used for added shock protection. True, but the plan was to hook up the resmed bag to my hiking backpack, so I would need holes in the plastic bag to be able to mount it to the backp...
