extremely high ahi

Post by debdix1410 » Mon Mar 18, 2024 6:26 pm

Hello fellow cpapers!
I have been using cpap for several years with varying results over that time. My problem is that last night I recorded an ahi of 39! I am not sure why. I did recently come out of hospital but wasnt on any drugs that may have caused this. I recently upgraded from resmed 10 to resmed 11. I use pillow mask. My air showed mask leak of 10.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Debbie

howdy! need a lot more info to go on. do you use Oscar software? if so, could you share some graphs with us? the forum would need to see the breakdown of the ahi before any intelligent advice could be offered.

I will say, though, that I once showed an ahi of 44! and I have NO idea what caused it. pugsy has talked before about "demons" and how they can mess with our sleep. obviously, not seriously. just to point out that sometimes, things happen.

as it turned out in my case, my ahi returned to normal the next day.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

With a MyAir "score" of 10 it means that your leaks were 35-36L. That's quite high. Your machine can compensate for leaks up to about 24-25L. Were you mouth breathing? Look at the explanations on your MyAir scores.
