Re: Quick Pressure Question
Thanks for the insight here. However everything I'm reading, I thought an AHI of under 5 is considered normal? What I don't want to do is make myself miserable with an increased pressure range all night long to get an AHI of under 2, waking up several times feeling uncomfortable and of course feelin...

Re: Quick Pressure Question
Another silly question: Should I use SleepHQ (or Oscar) to figure out my lowest pressure that still gives me less that 5 AHI? I'm at 7 to 12 right now, and my stats show me at about 3 AHI each night. I'm going to change it to 7 to 11 and see if I am still under 5 after a few days. Does that sound li...

Re: Quick Pressure Question
Thanks my friend, I'll give it 7 to 12 a try for a week. Great point about not being above a 12 for very long each night, I didn't see it that way.

Quick Pressure Question
Hi everyone, a possibly quick question about my pressure settings on my Resmed 11. I'm currently set at APAP, 8 to 15. For the past couple of weeks, SleepHQ shows my AHI below 3 on those settings. My 95% is 13 to 14 and my 99% is 14 to 15. I'm still waking up feeling "full" and gassy with some lower...

Portable CPAP Recommendation?
I've been using the Resmed 11 for about 6 months and it's going okay. Not awesome, but I'm getting into the groove of it - I have a whole thread already about my trials and tribulations with it if you're interested. Anyway, the one thing I do not like about this device is that it's not as portable a...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Yeah, it's been a struggle of sorts to figure out the right combination of masks, hose position, sleeping position, etc. It's actually a pretty big hassle. I know my wife is tired of hearing me talk about it. I have a friend of mine who recently told me she's been on CPAP for years and I'm like uhhh...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Been trying out the N20 nasal mask which I actually like! I never had any issues with with the nose pillows but I wouldn't say I loved them, I more tolerated them. My medical supply company sent me the wrong supplies this month around and it included the N20 nasal mask so I figured I'd give it a try...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Hey everyone, been a little bit since I last posted. I switched back to my top of the head nose pillow mask (the p30i) and I think this time it's helping with my "waking up with lower back pain" issue that I've had for a month. Unfortunately, I'm now waking up with kind of a dusty/chalky feeling in ...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Great advice as always! I'll get the smaller cozy for the short hose, That is what probably was happening last night and why my machine moved around, I was pulling on the cozy which I cinched up super tight on the short hose and must have been yanking it which moved the machine out of position. This...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Good news last night. Switched to the non-heated hose and set the Humdity to 5, and did not wake up at 5AM feeling stuffy and out of breath like I have all the previous week. I also pulled the cozy up over the smaller hose that connects to the P10. Only weird thing is that I did end up somehow pulli...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
So try to avoid red-eye flights when you can avoid them. I already do this - it wasn't a red eye flight, I was just tired from getting up 2 hours early every day for the past week so I tried to snooze while waiting. However my point being is that since starting CPAP, I cannot get any sleep anywhere...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Also: How do you run the hose from the machine to your mask? Is it on top of the bed covers? Hanging overhead? Or under the covers? My machine is on my night stand only about 3 feet from my head, w hen I roll to the other side the hose and cozy are on top of the blankets. When I sleep on my side fa...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Hello again, Unfortunately I'm still getting up about 2 hours early since switching to the heated host. It's always after using the machine for roughly 6 hours, and I wake up tired so it really doesn't feel like I'm getting enough sleep. It really seems to be moisture related. The inside of the hose...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Great to know! Thanks for the tips. I've only used the heated hose for a few days and clearly the "Auto" setting isn't working very well on it. When put on Auto, I still get condensation. When I put it on Manual, and set the hose temp to 78 and the Humidity to 5 or 4, I still get condensation. When ...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap
Another so-so night for me. I fall asleep fine, but I was up at 5AM (2 hours early) with again, a very "full" feeling and I could not go back to sleep. Stinks because I have a busy day today and I'm out 2 hours of sleep. I slept fine, and feel okay this morning, but I know I'll be dragging at 9PM be...
