Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

I may try the heated hose eventually. The one thing I absolutely did NOT like was the warm air from the non-heated hose (it as just the room's air) blowing into my nose over the summer. It bugged me to the point that I thought the warm air was going to be the thing that kept me from using the machin...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

If I'm not using the heated hose, should I turn off slimline and change it to Standard? Any idea what the difference is? I have the heated hose, I just haven't used it yet. This is the first time I've been in the clinic menu so it's never been changed. As far as the ramp up, you're right, if I'm at ...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

I entered Clinic mode and set my Min Pressure to 8, and Ramp Up on Auto, with a starting pressure of 8. I did that both based on your suggestions, as well as looking at the graph and finding that my Median is always above an 8. So that makes sense to me! Looking forward to trying it out tonight! Out...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

While I'm at work and not able to test this out, a couple more questions (off topic but it's better than making a new thread): How often do you replace your tube, your mask/nose pillows, and the humidifier reservoir? My medical supply place seems to think I need new nose pillows every 2 weeks, a new...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

Experiment while you are awake: See if you can comfortably breathe while lying down with the machine blowing at 8cm for at least 10 or 15 minutes. If you can do that, you can most likely turn the ramp off and just use 8cm as your minimum pressure setting. But if you can't do that, then see if you c...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

What is a bit frustrating is that I really don't understand much of this. My sleep doctor pretty much just gave me the test, confirmed my 33 AHI, then the machine arrived a few weeks later. When I first got it I didn't even know I needed to keep my mouth closed and had to figure it all out on my own...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

I've been using the P30i - the mask with the hose on top of the head with nose pillows - for about the past three weeks. One of those nights (forgot which) in there I switched to the N30 to test out my hurt-back theory but the next night was back on the P30i. Always using the nose pillows. Here is n...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

SleepHQ is awesome! Just uploaded my data to it, and here's the public link for the past 90 days:

Thank you again for any insight you may teach me from that data!

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

I edited the above post with info about my ramp-up and pressure. For my nap, I started on my back and tried to fall asleep for about 30 minutes. Then I turned to my side which is probably about when I actually fell asleep. It was then I woke up from that light doze feeling very full as described in ...

Re: New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

Thanks again everyone for your input. I'm going to extract the SD card and put it through OSCAR and post my results shortly. you also felt like you "just couldn't get enough air" the entire time. I didn't explain this very well. When I try to take a nap WITHOUT the machine, that is when I start to f...

New-ish User, Terrible Results Taking a Nap

I've bee on my CPAP machine for about 4 months and doing pretty well with it. Nighttime, averaging 100/100 scores with less than 3 AHI, no mask discomfort, no major seal issues, just doing pretty well with it. I was up late last night and up early this morning, so today I tried to take my first nap ...

Re: Middle Back Pain with Air Tubing on Top (P30i)

Data. Real hard data. Not myair. Will do! I have had a SD card in it for a while and have used Oscar to read the stats from it a couple of times (even though they don't mean much to me). I'll give it a go this weekend and just .. post the data in this forum? Anything in particular I should post, as...

Re: Middle Back Pain with Air Tubing on Top (P30i)

I know I'm getting a tad off my original topic but this information has been absolutely fantastic for me, I should have joined this forum sooner (or pressed my Dr for more information before just trying to figure it out for the past 4 months). How does one reduce their AHI when on a CPAP machine? I ...

Re: Middle Back Pain with Air Tubing on Top (P30i)

I always mentally discount my AHI by the amount of apparent SWJ. Yeah, me too. My AHI is ALWAYS about 75% SWJ stuff. Doesn't matter if it is 1.0 or 3.0 or 5.0 or 10.0......always mostly SWJ. Had a 9.4 AHI last summer and it was 90% SWJ.....bad sleep night due to back pain from some dumbass overdoin...

Re: Middle Back Pain with Air Tubing on Top (P30i)

Excellent questions and tips Robysue1, I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that up. First, I'll hook up my SD card and run Oscar on the data to get some more concise data. I did it once as a test and it worked fine. Shame that myAir is so bare bones because it's clear the data is th...
