After finding a tiny moth in the hose onceI now always cover the mask end with a baggie zip-lock and never take the hose off the machine nor the mask off the hose ( so what, I'm not a wash all the stuff person).

Wow, never thought that would happen. When you least expect it....expect it. That looks like an earwig and they can pinch! I've swallowed my share of bugs while riding motorcycle, but would have a tough time dealing with one blown up my nose. NASTY! john
