I want to start CPAP again but since I technically have a working machine my insurance won't cover a new one.
Have you spoken directly with your insurance?

No idea who your DME is but you should ask them too but insist you want a Resmed auto.

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation machine

We live on the east coast of Australia For those that didn't read the entire post or missed it...see above. They don't have the same rules and/or regulations as we here in the US have. Oh my. Mea Culpa. How did I miss that? I agree with using it until something better is found and also hope this is...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation machine

I will admit I didn't read everything but wanted to say... I don't know where you are located or what kind of hospital she was at but any Dr. can write her a script. How about the doc who said this is the worse he's ever seen? Whatever you get make sure it is an Auto-BiPap. IF money is avail you sho...

Re: using a borrowed machine

My neighbor has sleep apnea but he does not have insurance therefore can not afford a sleep study. My CPAP machine is set at 11 pressure. Could it hurt my neighbor to use my machine at 11? My thought was, better to have something than nothing. What do you think? While it may not hurt - the neighbor...

Re: Do I need a new sleep study?

My last one was about five years ago, and things haven't really changed. My CPAP died, but we've moved halfway across the country. This is exactly why anyone using a cpap should have a spare. And a spare of everything needed to make it work. Is there any issue with getting my old prescription from ...

Re: Downloaded Oscar - Data not appearing - Help!

My old profile name from SleepyHead shows up. Does SH have the data you need? Anything you can use? I'm thinking there is nothing on your SD card for some reason. Is it unlocked? IF worse comes to worse maybe you can bring your cpap in for your Dr visit? Call and ask them? That is how it used to be...

Re: Downloaded Oscar - Data not appearing - Help!

Let's start here... With your profile open - top left of the Oscar window is "File" below that is "Profile" now look to the right of that row for "Statistics" - click on the "Statistics" tab. Anything there? IF so you are in luck - print that. That is what your doc wants. How long have you used it e...

Re: Airsense 10 - noise from air intake

My plan is to replace with the airsense 10 given the reviews I’ve read comparing the 10 and 11. Good Plan. Hopefully the doc wrote the make & model of the cpap you want on this script. But even if s/he did, the DME often will want to push on you something else. Just be up front and clear about what...

Re: Airsense 10 - noise from air intake

I cleaned it out a little bit, and washed the grey foam piece. All of the silicon connectors appeared to be in good shape, but I gave them a wash for good measure. If I had to guess, somehow there's a connection somewhere that is not sealing properly - but I can't identify the issue. My sleep is me...

Every night I end up leaving bed to sleep in a recliner due to pain &/or husband's snoring. I'm looking for ideas for how I can easily moved my c-pap with me.
Having two is the easy (best) way out. But you really should have a spare.

Re: Philips CPAP accessories discontinued?

I use the Dreamwear mask which I like very much, I’m not sure if I should stock up on them if they will soon be no longer available. I have seen it happen many times even when the situ wasn't near this bad and (for reasons unknown) they have stopped making someones favorite mask. IIWM I would stock...
