Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

Well, I'm truckin' on but still lying in bed awake way to much of the time. (I think I just need to get up & read to get sleepy so I'm not awake while my ResMed is racking up false events!! * I made NO change to settings, and won't for the next 3-4 days. * I'll turn the machine OFF and go read if I ...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

I have some "HOW TO..." questions that I haven't been able to find the answers for: 1. When I use "quotes" to post on my reply . . . HOW DO YOU get it to say "[person's name] wrote " before the quote?? I always have to type the words myself instead of the person's name appearing automatically before...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

PUGSY WROTE: Buckwheat hull pillow shoved up against the back/spine when on your side to help you stay off your back. That's what I had the best success with. Needs to be heavy whatever because otherwise it slides around too much or off the bed kind of thing. Thanks. I just bought a Pur-sleep Buckwh...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

Is ANYONE having any success with something that KEEPS YOU OFF YOUR BACK AT NIGHT??? I rigged up an old T-shirt sewing a sock on the back containing 2 tennis balls. I tried it out for two minutes . . . the dang thing would cripple me if I wore it at night! And I ordered an inexpensive 2"-heig...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

PUGSY WROTE: You aren't seeing a lot of CAs/centrals every night because you simply don't have Complex or central apnea issues. Remember it is quite normal to have a handful of centrals throughout the night anyway. Also remember sleep onset centrals which are also normal to see. When we have multipl...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

ROBYSUE1 WROTE: Most of the increase in your AHI was due to CAs, but the number of CAs is not something to worry about, particularly since you say that you were not asleep for much of the time you were using the machine. It's worth remembering that more pressure isn't going to eliminate CAs, and par...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

PUGSY WROTE: The potty breaks....do you have to go pee often during the day as well??? Trying to tease out a reason as to why so many potty breaks other than "I am awake I might as well go pee"...reason. YES, I have had a "frequency" problem for many years. I think it's gotten worse as a "Senior" (o...

PUGSY WROTE:
Are you experiencing any nasal congestion????
No, my nose has been clear. (I do use Flonase at bedtime if I don't have free flow of air through my nose.)

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

Well, AHI went up a bit, but for NOW I'll take anything under 5. Last night all settings were the same as 11/15, except I turned the RAMP OFF. I felt no difference with comfort . . . so ramp seems to be unnecessary since I have EPR 2 on. - Now I am on the 10 Minimum pressure right from the start all...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

PUGSY WROTE: I am concerned about the breaks in therapy though.....several of them and the awake time lasts longer than I would like to see. But we take baby steps when we have to....we can still get there even with lots of baby steps. Being female, and 81 years old, 3 or 4 potty breaks during the n...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

FINALLY my AHI was normal last night: 1.58 :D PUGSY WROTE on 11/11/22: FWIW....I think you are going to need more minimum and at some point I also think you should consider adding in EPR again to see if EPR helps reduce the FLs. Now how much more minimum??? That's really something we can't tell for...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

Was very tired during the day yesterday, Sunday 11/13 . . . felt like going back to bed at 2:30 in the afternoon, but stayed up hoping to have a good night of sleep which I did (although I was up and down during the night, I caught up on some sleep and feel better this morning.) Here are my OSCAR re...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

Well, I had a much more pleasant night, not worrying about sleeping on my back. (I did jam some small, firm pillows behind my back. And I am in the process of putting a tennis ball pocket on one of my sleeveless polos). Last night I did change my pressure range to 8-14 (would like a 9 or 10 Minimum,...

Re: HELP needed for 13-yr CPAP user!

OZIJ WROTE: One thing I really like about ResMed machines: you can change the pressure in 0.2 steps. This can be very helpful when trying to get your body used to higher pressures. It means it may take you a long time to reach the preferred minimum pressure - but it gives you a better chance of reac...
