I remember before I was diagnosed I would have very vivid dreams, it seems like the night lasted far longer than it did. When I got my Auto CPAP machine those vivid dreams vanished, it was great. In the last 3 months the vivid dreams are back, but my CPAP machine is showing very good AHI and it is not maxing out the level. I have it set to max 18 and it usually doesn't need to go above 16. AHI usually around 1 to 4.
Could this be due to either tube air temp, humidity levels, or anything else ? I use the Airfit P10 and a Philips Remstar System One P560P.
Maybe it is totally unrelated, but odd how changing CPAP stopped all these dreams as soon as I started it, but now they are back while still using CPAP but still getting good AHI.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

"4" isn't "very good", it means that your sleep is being interrupted *at least* every 15 minutes on average. And the AHI doesn't count all the respiratory related sleep disturbances.BlizzardUK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 9:26 pmI remember before I was diagnosed I would have very vivid dreams, it seems like the night lasted far longer than it did. Most likely the 'anything else', and that is probably because your min pressure is too low.BlizzardUK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 9:26 pmCould this be due to either tube air temp, humidity levels, or anything else ? I use the Airfit P10 and a Philips Remstar System One P560P.
Most likely because your therapy is less effective, and your min pressure need to be adjusted.BlizzardUK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 9:26 pmMaybe it is totally unrelated, but odd how changing CPAP stopped all these dreams as soon as I started it, but now they are back while still using CPAP but still getting good AHI.

Opposite for me, prior to pap, I didn't have any dreams. Once on pap therapy, dreams seem forever, not complaining, just sharing

Re: Vivid dreams in last 3 months but showing good AHI
We can dream in any sleep stage but we don't normally "remember" any dreams unless we are awakened either during or right at the end of a dream. So remembering dreaming normally means our sleep is getting fragmented which isn't a good thing.
We can wake often and still have a very good nice low AHI as well.
Some medications can also affect dreaming and sleep quality. So look at any new meds or changes is dosage as a possible culprit.
Otherwise look for other potential causes of fragmented sleep.
Now it is normal to wake up after the completion of the REM stage sleep cycle so some remembering of dreams might be just from that normal wake up so an occasional wake up and remembering a dream doesn't necessarily mean something bad is going on.
But when we are seeing a big change in anything then we need to start looking at what might have caused the change.
