Re: Philips CPAP accessories discontinued?

The F&P Evora is the hose in front hose style and the sizes are just slightly different than the F30(i) .. they are about a half. Size different and they have a large instead of the wide. The F30s medium pinch the sides of my nose where the Evora large is exactly right. If you love you mask I would ...

Re: How does CPAP prevent apnea?

Think of your airway between the nose/mouth as a soft floppy ballon like they twist a dog toy out of, but that has thick walls. Air goes in and out during the day when you are vertical and everything is fine. When you lay down it kinda slumps over but is still open. Now imagine a small kitten sits o...

That first recording you posted... it sounds like a loose bearing in the motor.

Re: How to Troubleshoot & Improve Leak Performance?

Not to make lite of your long struggle, but curing leaks is the first step to make a good nights sleep. I thought I was a nose breather until I started. I tried mouth taping and couldn't handle it. Ultimately Iended up on the F20 airtouch or the F&P Evora (looks like the F30 but has a large size.) F...

Re: Are "ST" machines obsolete?

The ASV machine works by tracting minute vent (breaths per minute multiplied by volume of exhale for a 90 second average. The upshot is it will track breathing and volume and if you are behind it will force a breath to fill in. This is why it works for central apnea as well as obstructive. Pretty mu...

Re: Mask cleaning question

Baby wipes and cpap wipes are not the same thing. Cpap wipes have much stronger chemicals on them. If you search there is a video out there that does a lab test to prove it. Anyways, you can get a years supply of generic cpap wipes for about $25 or less, so how much to you need to save? For cleanlin...

Re: Are "ST" machines obsolete?

These are the changes between the versions - you can still get all of them if you can find a vendor with stock. Operating pressure range S, ST, T: 3 to 25 cm H2O (3 to 25 hPa) VAuto: 4 to 25 cm H2O (4 to 25 hPa) CPAP: 4 to 20 cm H2O (4 to 20 hPa) Supplemental oxygen Maximum flow: For VAuto device: 4...

Re: Airsense 10 - noise from air intake

I just listened to it - was on mute before -

That is motor bearing noise - nothing to be done but new machine or new motor.

I would spent the $$ to get it repaired or replace the motor myself to keep it as backup.

Re: (Changed titled) Grease in CPAP saga, continued with Airsense 10

Scrap my whole long winded post - apparently I didn't read the second page. For hose heating issues it is one of a couple of things Hose bad - try a new one sensors at the end of the hose near the mouth - new hose Bad connector ring on the back of the pap machine - use instructions to open it up and...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10- EXTRA Large Water Tank

I tried the various tank modifications and none were very successful for me. I have 1 tank that I bought for that set aside if I ever want to restart project pincusion again. I just worked on my leak control and pretty much have it at zero and using a FFM. Once I got rid of the leaks and the mouth b...

Re: F30i Darth Vader Inhale Noise

For me the F30i, n30i, and p30i all have one issue - I can hear the air going through the tubes as they pass near my ears. It is not a huge thing and is barely audible when I am sitting up before bed, but once I lay down and turn on my side it is noticably louder. Earplugs do help it since the noise...

Re: using a borrowed machine

What type machine do you have? What is his prescription for? Most machines are pretty easy to put into clinicians mode and change the settings to match what the neighbor needs. What you don't want to do is lend the machine unless you have your own. And you don't want to lend the machine unless the n...

Re: Clearing nasal passage - Tips please.

Afrin works by shrinking blood vessels in the sinuses. And it works great.... now the warning, it says not to use it more than 4 days.... the reason it says that is the active period is is followed by your sinuses closing up again and only after a few days you need it more and more frequently. When ...
