HELP ! CAN'T EXHALE

I have been using Qattro FX with Sys One since December, 2011. For the last year, AHI < 1. 3 days ago AHI has shot up to 12-14. Auto pressure 15-20 unchanged. For first time ever, I hear the flap in the swivel close , making exhalation most difficult . Took it out and cleaned it. No help. Last night...

Re: Several nights with the Quattro FX

I have been using Quattro fx for 11 months. I think I've tried every available aid to help with leaks and to lower AHI. Starting Ahi was low 20's . Dr. thought that it was a great improvement of 75% reduction---pre-cpap. Now, I am usually <1 Ahi. Initial pressure was 5-20. Now it is 15-18. I use pad...

Re: Sleeping with élan

by chunkyfrog on Tue Jun 26, 2012 10:04 am Another thought: a third-party cushion for your favorite full face mask, consisting of something like a miniature hemorrhoid cushion, complete with filler port--to be custom inflated by the 'papper'. Fabric seems to outlast silicone, and is ...

Re: Sleeping with élan

I had to return the Elan because I just can't tolerate nasal masks. I wonder if it would be possible to create an Elan full face mask? That would get me hot and bothered!!

Re: Any folks using dental devices with CPAP?

Looked @ the Nosebreathe device and it's not what I am looking for. I want something which can be used w apap that will advance jaw slightly forward, openening airway. Goal is to reduce pressure from 15.5 ave. Ordered a $30 device today which claims it will do what I'm looking for.

Re: Any folks using dental devices with CPAP?

My ave. pressure is 15. Dme insists the high pressure is the reason I can't sleep for more than 2 hours with ffm. Is there a dental appliance which advances the jaw slightly and is small enough to be used with a ffm? The hope is to be able to reduce pressure to around 7 or 8, making it possible to s...

Re: Humidifier turned off

Did not use the humidifier last night and the #'s are unchanged. Had some dry mouth so I will re-attach humidifier and keep it on 0 and experiment by moving the setting to 1 and 2. CA's are now 80% of AHI and wonder why? Going for full sleep study tonight and don't really have any questions othertha...

Re: Humidifier turned off

Thanks, I will try using no water tonight to see if anything changes. I am going for a full sleep study tomorrow night to determine if I would benefit from robot surgery, but will inquire about the whole humidifier issue.

Humidifier turned off

For the last week, my AHI has dropped from 5-10, to 1-3. I was going crazy trying to figure out why the improvement. I decided to check on the settings and found the humidifier was set @ 0 ..... I usually have it set on 5 on System One machine. Still not convinced, has anyone else ever seen better A...

CPAP THERAPY EFFECTIVE?

Hi, I am new to the CPAP world since 12/9/11. I was given the System One with the QuattroFX mask lg. I don't thinkit fits very well as it leaks alot and it seems I have to make it very tight to lessen the leakage. It makes me wonder if CPAP is working for me. I am trying to learn how to read the #'s...
