angular cheilitis And CPAP

Hi all, I just developed a second case of angular cheilitis in less than a year and I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong with my CPAP machine or there’s some other preventative measures I should be using? I use a full mask that covers my nose and mouth. Angular cheilitis are those sore cracked...

Flying to Mexico with distilled water and cpap machine

Hi Al, I know in the US I can fly with carry-on baggage and carry more than 100 mL of distilled water as a medical supply along with my CPAP machine. Does anyone know what the rules are about flying into Mexico with distilled water and a CPAP machines ad carry-on? Can I carry more than 100 mL of dis...

Re: Airsense 11 and 12 volt Adapter

The “battery people” are like the “mole people”. Just joking. The battery people are the company I bought the battery from.

Re: Airsense 11 and 12 volt Adapter

A few years ago I bought a battery for my S9 Series H5i heated humidifier with climate control. I just got the new airsense 11 which has a weirdo plug that does not fit any of the plugs/cables the battery came with. I called the battery people and they said they will not have adapters for 6-8 months.

daily tub cleaning?

HI All, I just picked up my new AIRSense 11 machine. My doctor talked me into upgrading from my S9 Series H5i heated humidifier with climate control which seemed to work fine, but I have had it for about 6 years now. Anyhow, the tech told me I should empty my tub every day, and rinse it out with soa...

Hi All,

My doc only gives me 1 filter to last six months. Can I rinse out those filters under the tap? Thanks.

Headaches from headgear straps

Hi everyone. I have been using the following headgear for a few years now: ResMed AirFit™ F20 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear. It is a full face headear because I have bad sinuses, and my nose is often stuffy. In the last six months or so I’ve been getting headaches at the back of my head where th...

Resmed elbow sticking to hose/tube

Hi everyone, on my resmed airfit F20, the elbow sticks to the hose. When I try to clean the mask every week I take Elbow off the hose, but the elbow is so hard to get out of the hose, I am afraid it’s going to rip the hose. Is there anyway to lubricate the elbow so it slides in and out of the hose b...

Resmed Cleaning, remove elbow from hose?

Hi all, I am currently using the airfit F 20 full face mask for my resmed s9 machine. I love the mask, it works so much better than the previous version of the mask. However, I wonder about my cleaning regimen. Normally I remove the hose from my CPAP machine, and also remove the elbow from one end o...

Re: Padacheek mask liner and cleaning?

I washed the mask every day before the liner, mostly the area where the silicon seal was to get rid of the oils and skin cells. thanks for your description about wiping the mask down still assembled. do you wipe it down with the liner still on the mask? do you stick the baby wipe inside the mouth/no...

Re: Padacheek mask liner and cleaning?

I can't find anything on the padacheek website. I am trying to find out, how often should I clean my mask, when I am using the liner. Sounds like I should wash the liner about once per week. But not sure when to wash/clean my mask now that I am using the padacheek liner.

Re: side sleeping and mask leaking

Yes, someone else suggested that, and I have been washing my face immediately before going to bed. It just seems like in the morning, after sleeping all night, the mask is hard to seal. Do you clean your face before bed? I found that doing a good cleaning and using a toner or astringent has helped m...

side sleeping and mask leaking

HI All, I think I am doing pretty good on CPAP, been about 1 month. I still haven't figured a good way to sleep on my side without my mask leaking. I tried the padacheek for 2 days, and I really didn't like it. The hole for my mouth seemed too small, I tried opening it, and it still seemed small. Al...

Re: first night, hard to get used to cpap

Thanks to everyone for the support and suggestions! well its been 2 days shy of a month, and while I don't love sleeping with the mask, it is tolerable. If I sleep on my back, I am generally ok, but when I go to the side or stomach, I invariably cause a loud leaking with the mask, so I have to try t...
