Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please
Details of what Mt. Siani is doing to use Tesla donation as ventilators: https://lnkd.in/ed9HqpK Article I found link in: https://cleantechnica.com/2020/04/03/mount-sinai-hospital-receives-ventilators-from-tesla/ Says it requires Resmed VPAP ST (or alternative bi-level machine). Interestingly, it ta...

Re: Concern Over Sleep Apnea and Coronavirus Transmission
The takeaway I got was that if the CPAP user is infected, the exhalation port on the CPAP mask is how viruses are spread throughout the household (return ducts, etc)... https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/27/822211604/cpap-machines-were-seen-as-ventilator-alternatives-but-could-spread-...

Doesn't use any CPAP parts, but an open source ventilator design:

Re: Converting CPAPs into ventilators
Here is one such project to use a CPAP with additional hardware/sensors to make a DIY ventilator: https://github.com/jcl5m1/ventilator Saw it mentioned in this article: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/5dm4mb/people-are-trying-to-make-diy-ventilators-to-meet-coronavirus-demand I would say only fea...

Re: Got tinnitus from cpap? This will help.
Perhaps tinnitus related to Jaw or TMJ. When I started using CPAP I wasn't taking to it well, and I got a dental appliance that moved my bottom jaw forward to attempt to address sleep apnea. I noticed when using it, and can reproduce sitting here by jutting my bottom jaw forward, that it reduces my ...

Re: resmed airsense 10 "wifi" ???
My Airsense 10 Autoset has a CDMA modem inside, using Verizon Wireless network. They are shutting down their CDMA network end of 2019 so I expect many modems won't work in 2020 anyways: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-218813/ I'm guessing newer Airsense 10 units have an LTE mo...

Re: Can CPAP cause depression/anxiety?
I think this is true for many of us. It is for me. Every day I promise myself that I'm going to go "cold turkey", except it doesn't happen. I still look up medical conditions and always sorry that I did. I used parental controls on my WiFi router to break my facebook habit - I never go there now, d...

Re: Run time Airsense 10 Autoset
Hi, new on here and trying to reach davecpap as his early experiences with the cpap were very similar to what I am experiencing now. Thanks! I pretty quickly decided I didn't care about ~140 run hours on the machine. I was grateful I was able to find a CPAP machine while traveling, and the Airsense...

Re: Can CPAP cause depression/anxiety?
davecpap I am interested in how you are doing today. I have just started this journey and am about ready to throw off the mask due to a severe increase in depression. Thanks. Wow this thread is eight years old. I'm surprised by the words I wrote, I forgot how I was feeling at that point in my life....

Nasal mask for narrow bridge
I've used the Fisher & Paykel Zest mask for seven years. I recently tried an Eson mask, and while comfortable it doesn't make a good seal around my nose due to a narrow bridge. I tried two differernt size Eson cushions. Any other recommendations? Or if it ain't broke don't fix it? I just wanted to s...

Re: Choosing a Battery
I started looking into smaller, simpler setups because a number of people posted that this is too complicated and anything that required drilling holes and soldering wires was beyond their capabilities. I'm all about smaller, simpler solution too. That why I like your U1 battery suggestion - don't ...

Re: Choosing a Battery
The post I made above features a battery box with carrying handle and a button on the exterior you press to check the charge in the battery. I think that's an option worth the added cost. Total for the entire setup was >$260. Is there a way to secure U1 size battery inside the Minn Kota power cente...

Re: Choosing a Battery
This older thread seems to have a pretty nice parts list/instructions for building a safe battery backup solution. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89123 Anyone know of any improvements or similar (newer) instructions? This thread has smilier info, but the above thread is very explicit ab...

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes
Any speculation why prescribing physician/manufacturer would suggest ever cleaning any components of CPAP system then? The DME I picked up machine from gave me a pamphlet they printed with a schedule of when to clean each component, and mentions the proper ratio of water/vinegar to use for disinfect...
