Off grid RVing and the Z1 voltage dilemma

I’ve been using my Z1 in my truck camper successfully for some time now. A few weeks ago, however, I woke to find the Z1 had turned off. I turned it on and went back to sleep…until it switched off again. Fully awake now, I timed it. After one minute it would turn off consistently. I checked the camp...

Re: Crazy low insurance reimbursement

I received a letter yesterday saying my appeal was successful, and they will re-calculate my benefit. Just waiting now to see what they come up with. I've noticed on some of my EOBs state they look for other lists of allowable costs when Medicare rates are not available. Anyone know where to find su...

Re: Resmed airsense 10 elite end of life message from machine

I got my System One in 2011. Still going strong when I took it out of service due to the recall this year.

Re: Smokey smell coming from new cpap

I have noticed campfire odors following a camping trip. A filter change helped.

Re: Crazy low insurance reimbursement

I did go through our hosts, paid outright, and turned in the receipt. This has worked fine in the past, but the plan and the administrators have changed since. It definitely would have been better to go through an in-network DME. The EOB says nothing about any repeat payments, and calling them did n...

Crazy low insurance reimbursement

My insurance is using the Medicare rates. All seems fine until we get to the CPAP itself. Billing code is E0601 NU (newly purchased). It would seem that Medicare doesn't publish this particular code/modifier combination, just the E0601 RR (monthly rental rate). Anybody else deal with a similar situa...

Re: uninterrupted battery backup system

Second test was performed last night, disconnected from AC all night long. With my low pressure and humidity settings, I drew one battery to about 50% and the other to 90. I should be able to last several days when the public safety power shutoffs begin to arrive in my area. No more further tests, s...

Re: uninterrupted battery backup system

560 pre-tax dollars on my FSA card for the dual system.
It uses the Resmed brick, so no separate charger. Resmed brick to battery 1, jumpered to battery 2, connected to AirSense.

Re: uninterrupted battery backup system

The Freedom V2 dual battery system arrived yesterday. The batteries charged quickly and it was ready for use. Pulled the wall plug to test, and the Remed never skipped a beat. The only negative so far: The same as my old Ebay battery, all connections are in the front by the displays. Rear connection...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

NadiaK,
I saw the video. I have a hard time accepting this re-engineering. The device was designed with foam as the floor of the air passageway. Removal of this floor must certainly alter things. Better to replace the foam or line it with parchment as was suggested above.

Re: Choosing a Battery

The fuse protects against short circuits with the battery as the source. The charger cannot supply 7.5 A, go by the 3A charger rating.

Re: uninterrupted battery backup system

Perhaps I can nudge this away from jump starters, and back to the original subject of this thread. I did manage to find this comparison: https://batterypowersolutions.net/bps/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/CPAP-BATTERY-COMPARISON-2020.pdf Four of five can work continuously, two of the remaining four wor...

Re: uninterrupted battery backup system

It likely will have a wall wart style charger that won't have enough amperage to power a CPAP and humidifier. This means when you attempt to use it in continuous mode you will draw from the battery, causing it to cycle nightly and not last long. The wall wart is also likely to be designed to be disc...
