Re: Low Oxygen Saturation (SPO2) Data Accuracy

It has been my experience that doctors are often unwilling to accept home data because they do not know if the instrumentation is correctly calibrated. I suggest that you ask your son's primary care doctor to order overnight oximetry for your son. If your son's doctor orders the oximetry you will si...

Re: CA Campgrounds with Electricity

The Reserve America website is also a great resource, they handle the reservations for US forest service campgrounds. They have maps of the campgrounds and list the amenities (including electricity) for each individual campsite.

Re: Too mild to warrent attention?

Thanks Can I ask what your sons oxygen saturation was like previous to treatment please?, ie if it was similar to mine, I can look forward to similar level of cognitive improvement. At the moment I really feel I have brain damage. My son's oxygen levels were similar to yours. He was under 88 for ab...

Re: Too mild to warrent attention?

I finally got a cardiologist to listen to logic and he apologised and agreed I was right, so he referred me to an Autonomic Neurologist in London. The Autonomic blood pressure test saw my standing position after three minutes show I had Orthostatic hypotension, at least on the day. The Neurologist ...

Re: Too mild to warrent attention?

The data you posted shows lower than normal oxygen saturations, if I were in your shoes I would push for a full sleep study. Anxiety does not cause low oxygen saturations... do not allow the doctors to dismiss your symptoms as being psychological. As far as the autonomic concerns... Have you been re...

Re: Sleep disorders in child

I am pretty new to all of this, I'm not an expert but perhaps the some of things I have learned thru my son's experiences can be of some help. My son is older than your son, he was 15 when he had his first sleep study. My son has mild to moderate sleep apnea and like your son his sleep study showed ...

Re: Will he recover ?

Hi colomom, I'm just curious, how old was your son when he was diagnosed and how old was he when he finally recovered? My story mirrors your son's and I am in my early twenties and I need hope success stories to keep me going... Sorry I was thinking you were the OP, and my first response to your po...

Re: Will he recover ?

Your son and my teenage son have strikingly similar stories. Last year my son went from an honor roll student to failing nearly all of his classes. His cognitive decline was so severe that we had to pull him out of school and home school him for a semester because he could no longer keep up in a tra...
