anyone know?

Post by whatrdreamsmadeof » Tue Apr 10, 2007 7:16 pm

I hope I didn't miss the thread on this, but if it's a repeat I apologize.
On straight cpap, my numbers are great, however I only get about 4 hours sleep. On auto cpap, numbers are higher but sleep longer. I find this very puzzling? Any thoughts would be appreciated.........Ellen

Ellen,

What pressures do you use in either mode?
How long did you use each mode?
The fact that you had higher numbers in Auto mode doesn't surprise me.
Depending on how high your straight pressure is, may explain things. (or not)

Thanks Wulfman,
I was titrated twice at 9cms, so that's what I set the straight cpap at stats about 3.1 to 4 with mostly Hypops. Been on auto for almost a year, first settings 7-11 stats usually about 6.1-7. Switched auto to 9-11 stats about 4.2-5.1
Thanks for your input........Ellen

Ellen,

In your Encore Pro charts, did your pressure go up to 10 and 11 when you had it in a range?
Usually when the events are mostly hypopneas, a little increase in pressure will reduce them.
I'm wondering what a straight pressure of 10 or 11 or a range of 10 - 12 (or 13) would do for you.
